Video from IVMS 4200 is downloading as a still image

Hi all,

New to IP cams and Hikvision and looking for some help please

I have my camera set up and working, recording to my PC using IVMS 4200 and the IVMS storage server (trying to save money on buying an NVR)

The only problem I can see at the moment is, that I can view playback footage fine through IVMS 4200, but if I download the footage to take it out of the software, I specify a time period etc and it creates a video file that plays for the desired time in VLC... BUT it is just a 'still' shot for the entire video

What am I doing wrong please?

The video is probably fine, but VLC might not have the right codecs to "understand" the format it is in.

Try installing Windows Media Player Filtres, it is used so your operating system can decode Hikvision videos.
