Hope this is ok to post here. Our village is suffering from HGV vehicles passing thru despite there being a weight limit on the road. I've been asked to look at the feasibility of a camera that would be good enough to be able to capture the number plate of a HGV passing on a long curve on the road, because of the road they wont be going above 30mph (more likely 15mph as tight and uphill) distance from an easy camera mounting position to the road is about 20-30metres. I can potentially mount it closer but its more difficult, any ideas on preferred distance would be great.
I've tried an Annke C800 which is great for capturing the motion but completely unable to capture the number plate in any detail to be able to figure it out, its blurry (exposure time 1/120).
Any recommendations for a reasonably priced camera that might be able to capture this detail. I'm not looking for a ANPR grade huge camera and need a bullet sized small camera.
