Visual identification of alarm events in continuous recording

I'm using my NAS to do continuous recording of my cameras, but I was assuming that triggered events (Motion Detection - Green, Alarm - Red, Motion | Alarm - Orange) would display those colors on the remote viewing timeline using iVMS or via the iOS app. I actually thought it *used to* display this way, but it appears it's not now. Perhaps I changed something in the config. I now have one long blue bar all day long for continuous recording and I have to hunt through the feed to review events. Any suggestions on how to get identification back? Even if I set it to only record motion events, the color of the motion events is blue too which seems counter-intuitive since blue is the color for continuous recording.

I'm on US 2CD2332 running 5.1.6.
