So I've been reading after using BI for like 9+ years that you're supposed to get the frame to fps ratio so it's /1 etc. All those threads are good but couldn't really find out about those smart options on vivotek cameras.
I have a bunch of newer ones now and some older ones at another property. New ones are FD9389 versions for outdoor, and IT9388 for indoor. Either way they all have similar options to choose from in the video settings.
I'm trying out 15-20 FPS depending on camera. I have enough space and BW and processor power but still like to optimize. So my question is the video settings.
Smart stream III
Constrained bit rate:
Using H264 since that's what I've read is best for BI?
Can someone give some recommendations? Is all these smart features useless in BI?
As my recording options, I'm doing continuous sub + alerts
TIA

Smart stream III
- Dynamic Intra frame period (it says it will automagically change I frame period from 1 to 10seconds) - keeping this on makes blue iris have that warning
- Smart FPS (no idea what this does)
- Smart codec: Mode - Auto tracking/Manual/Hybrid (???)
- Quality priority ???
Constrained bit rate:
- Target quality: Has stuff like GOOD, MEDIUM, EXCELLENT or can customize %...
- Max bit rate: up to 80Mbps
- Policy: Frame vs Image priority
- Smart Q: On/off (????????)
- Quality: GOOD MEDIUM etc...
