Hi,

I have a standalone working VTO2111D-WP that works flawlessly with the DMSS app on my android and apple devices, but decided to add a VTH5221DW to my setup for a more convenient use for the whole family.

The VTO is connected with POE when the VTH willuse the wifi, but they'reboth on the same network (192.168.0.x)

I can't understand why I have been so far unsuccesfull at viewing the VTO from the VTH.

Im using these firmwares :
VTH : V3.200.0000000.1.R.20180330
VTO : 2020-03-11 V4.300.0000003.0.R

Any idea ? I'm really not familiar with these settings and had a hard time setting it up the first time

Ok so I think I narrowed it down to a firmware issue. My VTH seems to be running an old firmware update that doesn't have the SIP settings page.
Anyone has a firmware looking like that that has the french language ? General_VTH52X1D_Eng_P_SIP_V4.300.0000000.5.R.20211126

Those appear to be Gen 1 VTO and VTH and do not support SIP - BUT it is very confusing because there is SIP firmware available that will
install on the VTH, but it will not connect to the VTO.

For example, I was able to flash:

General_VTH52X1D_Eng_P_SIP_V4.300.0000000.4.R.20190319.bin

to my VTH's, but was never able to flash

General_VTOXXX_Eng_P_16M_SIP_V4.300.0000000.1.R.20190305.bin

to my VTO.

The only way I could get the VTO and VTH's to connect was the following version 3 firmware:

General_VTH52X1D_Eng_P_V3.000.0012000.0.R.20180731.bin
General_VTOXXX_Eng_P_16M_V3.120.0000.0.R.20180614.bin

BTW, I went down the rabbit hole of different generation of VTO's and VTH's:

Thanks, that is indeed quite a mess :banghead:

And I've worsened it up a bit by failing a firmware upgrade on my VTH that now refuses to display anything... I'm already tired of dahua honnestly, even ubiquiti has more user-friendly equipment...

So if i get it correctly, once I succesfully unbrick my VTH, I'll have to downgrade myequipments to these firmwares :
General_VTH52X1D_Eng_P_V3.000.0012000.0.R.20180731.bin
General_VTOXXX_Eng_P_16M_V3.120.0000.0.R.20180614.bin

Could you please point me in the right direction to unbrick ? And also, do you have links to these firmwares, seems like google isn't being nice to me

Ahh geez - I'm sorry that you are having this problem - I've spent my share of effort on these VTO's and VTH's.

Apologies, but I've never had to unbrick any of my cameras or devices, so I really never investigated the procedure.
I do know that there are many threads on this forum for unbricking, so please try searching for "unbrick".

According to my web browser, I originally downloaded the firmware from
...
but those files are no longer available. o_O I will investigate further, maybe I can find another site.

So I've succesfully 'unbricked' it and installed different firmwares than the ones you did
General_VTH52X1D_Eng_P_SIP_V4.200.0000000.0.R.20180627 on the VTH
V4.300 on the VTO

I'm now able to seemy vto from my vth, but pressing the vto button doesn't ring the vth nor the mobile phones which were perfectly working before...One step forward, 2 steps backwards

New episode : I've succesfully installed the V4.300 on both the VTO and the VTH and added the french language, when pressing the VTO button I get notified on my mobile phones but now can't get the VTH to ring eventhough I can see the VTO from it... It's gonna drive me crazy

You've made more progress than I ever did. I never got the V4.3 firmware to work correctly!
