I bought a VTO2311R-WP back in November and until today it's been working flawlessly. Today however my wife went outside to grab an Amazon package, and when she came in she said "the doorbell is making a clicking noise". The noise sounds like the speaker is constantly coming on and offline, and though you can make and receive calls there is no audio, only clicking. It doesn't even play the voice prompts when you press the button. I've had to tape some heavy foam over the speaker for now because the clicking can be heard clearly inside the house and is REALLY annoying. On the plus side the video streams and web interface are still working 100% as far as I can tell.

The unit is mounted on our covered front porch, well isolated from the elements, and is connected to a dedicated security Ethernet network via a PoE switch. I've tried both reboots and power cycles to no avail. I suppose my next step would be a total reset, but it was a PITA to set up the hardwired network connection in the first place so I'm hoping it doesn't come to that.

I've got a message in to EmpireTech through Amazon (since that's where I bought it) but in the meantime I figured I'd post and see if anyone else has had an issue like this.

I would say to rule it out, try another power supply to make sure you don't have a POE switch or port going bad.

Is it isolated from the internet?

I can try changing ports, since it's the only thing on a four-port switch right now. But I don't think I have anything else around here that can supply PoE power, and there are no outlets anywhere near the front door (very old house) so feeding it power another way is not really feasible.

Yes it's blocked at my router, confirmed by trying to make it check for a firmware update.
