Way to see what address NVR is connecting to for updates?

So with the integration of the "check for updates" in the newer firmwares, I was wondering if there was a way to see what address the device was connecting to for an update. This may or may not make it easier to acquire most current firmware for offline devices.

With the right router you can. I use Mikrotik, not sure if the everyday run of the mill routers can do that though.

Care to test it out to get a server address? I'm sure it uses some kind of serial number verification system but its worth a look.

Sorry I found your post in the "new posts" section. What device are you talking about?

Any Dahua NVR or IP cam with the "check for updates" feature in the newer firmwares. Curious if it will lead to an ftp that we can , in turn, get the main directory off of.
