Does 5.2.3 or 5.2.5 firmware work with the 2032-l. The time sync crap with 5.2.0 is causing me to have to use h.264 for recording instead of d2d.

This firmware update is from Hikvision USA and will upgrade your camera to 5.2.x, BUT may also make everything in Chinese if your camera is not an English camera.

Hate to double post, but just realized what one of you asked. If telnet into the camera, there's a command, prthardinfo that displays the language flag, 2 for china, 1 for english. The example below is a china camera.

I have what I think is a China version camera - it has a serial number with CH in it, and is from Aliexpress; day of the week is in english, but it came with 2.5.5. However when I telnet and use this command, my language flag is "1."

What does this mean? I would just like to make sure I can upgrade in the future. I assumed I would have to deal with switching back to english, but now I'm confused.

Edit 1: This is weird... The camera's webpage admin interface reports - Firmware: V5.2.5 build 141201, Encoding version: V5.0 build 140714. But the telenet command returns - Firmware V5.2.5 build 141201.
EDIT 2: What I first thought was "weird," in my 'Edit 1' isn't at all. I misread the firmware version on the web interface, thinking it was different than the telnet.

Can I upgrade to 5.2.5 from 5.1.0?
