Which Dahua IVS triggers to enable in Blue Iris for AI/People detection?

I have 2 Dahua 5442-ZE. I have successfully cloned each camera so that one is only ONVIF alerts and one is Blue Iris and CPAI.

Which specific ONVIF trigger should I turn on in BI? Turned on line crossing and people detect on the BI side. On the Dahua side I have trip wire, people detect and intrusion zones. IVS is turned on.

I am getting alerts but if I turn on notifications for more IVS triggers it will trigger any motion. Is there a say to have Dahua and only send alerts of people crossing through a tripwire?

So you want the cam to trigger on any IVS/ONVIF event but only want an alert if the tripwire is triggered but not other IVS events?

Assuming so, it's a little complicated but you can distinguish the various types of ONVIF triggers from the same cam. The catch is that, as far as I know, you can't at this point have different actions (alerts, etc.) based on those various triggers. i.e., Any ONVIF trigger that's recognized will trigger the same action/alert. So, you'd need to make another clone set up only to trigger on the ONVIF tripwire (under Trigger > ONVIF/camera events > Configure) and then do the alert as usual.

Thank you for the reply.

I want two separate ways of detecting people: Blue Iris and Dahuah (through IVS alerts via Blue Iris). CPAI works but it is not always reliable.

I was hoping to utilize Dahuah's AI ability. The camera sees a person and sends an alert independently of CPAI. If I turn on all IVS triggers I get all sorts of alerts for motion despite having trip wire and intrusion zones set up.

Trip wire features work for me if I have the "line/cross" IVS trigger enabled. My question is: An object crosses the trip wire, Dahua analyzes the image and sends an alert if the object is a person? Or does it simply send an alert for any object that crosses?

The Dahua AI for most cameras is either person or vehicle.

So if all you care about is getting an alert when a person triggers the alert, then just select person for the trigger and not vehicle.

And make sure you have in the camera Motion Detection and Smart Motion Detection turned off. Just use IVS.

Yes, in that case, as wittaj says, just select person under filter when setting up the IVS event and you're done. It will only generate an event when it evaluates that a person has activated the tripwire/intrusion box/whatever. Otherwise, there's no IVS event and BI receives no ONVIF trigger event.

I will poke around the settings. Thank you for the replies!

So it looks like I just needs the "line/cross" setting on the Blue Iris side to receive trip wire alerts. If I am understanding it correctly.20240115_203928.jpg
