First blush I'd change exposure to 1/1000 and see what you get

Unfortunately I haven't had the time to dial in my night settings. It is definitely on my list of to-dos, though.

I have found the settings with the newer Z12E to be different than the older ones to capture the printed plates like Indiana has.

Yeah those suck, especially the states that decide to use blue. Infrared has a problem with that color.

Now if you want, try just minor adjustments, but also recognize we won't capture every plate.

I would try dropping sharpness to 45 and see if that helps the plate pop off the screen.
