Hi
Which HDD is recommends for Hikvision NVR ?

Regards.

I've never used the purples. I have blacks in personal PC and reds as backups for my NAS devices should any of them fail....

My experience with Seagate HDDs is that they will usually crap out just prior to warranty expiring, if you are lucky....I had them in a Netgear ReadyNas and every one of them died within a couple of months of the warranty expiration date. I think maybe one of them died after expiration date came and went...don't remember.
However, I've always had good performance and reliability from WD HDDs....

Depends who's paying. Business/Critical than I use WD Purple. Personal/Home than I use WD Green (physically the same drive).

For my Home setup I have 2x 3TB WD Green running in redundancy mode, so if one fails I have the other. All mechanical drives have a high annual failure rate.

Optimised firmware for 24/7 use (so they say, I think it's 99% marketing and maybe 1% better) and a better warranty.

Who's Del Bot?
