Why are all cameras so huge?

Im looking for an outdoor camera and Im negatively surprised how huge all models are. Ofcourse if you need a very high quality image then it makes sense, but a lot of people don't need that.

So why is there not a single manufacturer that makes outdoor cams the size of a doorbell cam? Ofcourse I could just buy a PoE doorbell cam instead and only use its videostream, but that will confuse a lot of visitors since it will be hanging close to the door.

So is there a certain reason why there exist no normal cameras in a very small size?

You nailed it - doorbell cam quality is not the same as better cameras, so they are a smaller footprint.

If you don't care about quality then buy a wyze, arlo, blink, trailcam etc. that are a much smaller size.

But then this is the quality you get.
