The real purpose of UEFI and fastboot is to make Windows computer more secure theses days. PC isn't build and maintain by only one company so it hard to create a perfect OS to work on many different type of hardware build by many thousands of different companies. Android faces the same thing.
Mac on other hand is build and controlled by one same companies which I feel restrict lot of our freedom what we can do with Apple product that we purchase and own.
Don't get me wrong. I think Apple design and build neat products but I like my freedom on what I can do with the product I purchase and owned.
