I had some time on my hands this morning so I did the unthinkable, I updated Windows on my BI machine. I've gone through, checked rules. Deleted rules even though they were correct, and then put them back in. Turned off the firewalls completely, etc., etc., etc...

Here's what I have now:
NetTime lets a cam get the time only on one IP (10.x.x.x) but not on the other (192.x.x.x)
SiteShoter can't write a file (.PNG). It works on this machine (without the update), but not on the BI machine. I deleted everything and copied it over from this one to the BI box to be sure but.... No change (no workie)...

Everything else looks right. BI gets out to the internet and ZeroTier works. That's about all the machine has going. I'd be pulling hairs out by now but I don't have any to spare...

Nope, tried having it write from SiteShoter to the network drive, still nothing. Probably SiteShoter isn't getting out to get the file even with the firewalls off and rules allowing it to get out on...
 
Just to be sure, insure that the Windows update didn't change your NIC's network properties from "private" to "public", as this has caused many network issues with many IPCT members in the last 2 years or so. :cool:

Ok, if ANYBODY else has this happen to them with the latest 11 update. I've been messing with this all day. Finally I came across a post saying to try a Network reset (Settings/Network & Internet/Advanced Settings/Network Reset). Whatever it did (since I didn't have to re-type anything in), it did the job. Beats me... this wasn't supposed to be an all day update...

Very strange... now I don't know if it wasn't because of the Windows update, or if it still is. Zerotier and Nettime weren't getting out today. So, I started up Firefox and same same. At least this time I knew where to look first. I went into adapter settings and sure as heck, while the internal net's 10.x.x.x IP was there, the internet's 192.x.x.x IP wasn't! As soon as I put it back in, life was good. Beats me...

Microsoft will now offer full Windows 10 software support for exactly one year after 10-14-25 for a $30.00 charge; offer will become available sometime in 2025. I'm going to pay that $30.00. My Windows 10 ain't broke and I'm not about to waste months trying to "fix" Windows 11 on a new machine.

Microsoft can take Windows 11 and shove it where the sun don't shine too brightly. :poop:
