been looking at getting ip cctv for my parents house but not actually sure what to go for. what would you recommend? i need to be able to access the cctv by mobile but i dont fancy paying a monthly fee for the service. i have been looking at hikvision ds-2cd2355fwd-i or ds-2cd2385fwd-i with NVR-108-A-8P with 3tb wd purple hdd. for the 2355 setup it would cost me £343 on ebay with the 15% off, or ds-2cd2385fwd-i from china for a similar price.

Be careful of mix and match of NVR and cameras from the same company. Some companies are software enforcing country rules. for example a US NVR will not work with hacked chinese based cameras.
I would recommend buying the complete setup from one vendor. Stick with either Dahua or Hikvision equipment. A lot of other camera vendors are using these cameras with less features.

If the price is cheap, you will pay for it in the long run.
