Is there a way to export settings from an existing same model and same firmware camera and import them to a new camera? It's pretty tedious going through each and every setting to make sure I have everything set up like the others. Thanks

My 4 year old EmpireTech (Dahua-OEM) IPC-HDW5442TM-AS has an "Import/Export" selection feature under "Setting"=>"System" which saves a file on my PC as "configFileExport.backup"

I noticed that, have you ever tried it? Is there any documentation that shows what settings are included in the file? Thanks

Most of us here don't do that. There is always the potential for something to not be brought over right or carry over some bug or something weird, and we have seen two identical cameras bought at same time from same lot set up side-by-side and requirements two different settings to make the image look the same.

Maybe it will work, maybe it won't, but given my experiences, I will just take the time to set it up from scratch. It really doesnt take that much time.

Heck I even rebuilt my system in BI when I switched computers and didnt export in.

I have very few scenes that are identical with regards to settings.

I can get in the ballpark, but particularly at night, there are substantial differences.

A simple tip: If you're worried about not being able to remember thje settings, screenshot every setting page and save the screenshots then you have a reference manual. If the picture or something else isn't great, you can always tweak from there. It gives you the backup you're looking for without the risk of import errors.
