My Blue Iris computer crashed resecntly and I had to rebuild it. No Problem, however now the Blue Iris app on my Iphone only shows color bars instead of the video. The video is working properly if I use a web brower, but not the app. I'm sure it's a user error, but I cannot figure it out. Any sugguestions.

Went from Blue Iris 5 to Blue Iris 6 when I rebuit the computer.

This happens from both ,just wifi and only cell phone service.

When on the app is that when on your LAN via Wi-Fi or cellular (remote, not Wi-Fi) ?

It happens on both. Appears to be possible setting on either the app, or the webserver. I'm only guessing though.

I have another site that I monitor and it works perfectly , only this site won't work properly The other site is using Blue Iris 5 though.

I have no idea how the iOS app works internally but I would suspect a video encoder setup problem. I suggest going to your web server > advanced > Streaming 0 configure and reset that profile to defaults. Then in the iOS app make sure it is configured to use Streaming 0.

Thank you for the suggestions. However, that did not produce any different reults. I will keep investigating this. I do believe that is is some kind of encoding error.

The title of your post is "UI3 app not showing video, only color bars" but your first post says "Blue Iris app on my Iphone only shows color bars."

Just to clarify, BI's embedded webserver is called "UI3" and it is accessed with a browser. Generally what is called the "BI app" is purchased on Apple for iOS or Google Play for Android.

That said, when do you get the color bars...opening UI3 with a browser on your iOS device or using the purchased BI app on your iOS device?

UI3 is just the web interface which is served by BI's embedded webserver. The webserver itself is not UI3.

He did say right in the first post that video works fine in a web browser "but not the app". Which indicates to me that UI3 is fine, and it is the Blue Iris iOS app that is failing.

Unfortunately I haven't used Blue Iris's iOS app in many years (if I ever did; I don't remember) and my first guess (bad encoder settings) was evidently incorrect so I have no other ideas what could be wrong. I don't even know in what situation those color bars are supposed to appear.

The IOS app will not load the video. The Blue Iris control panel works fine. Using Chrome,Firefox, and Edge (any Broswer) by typing the the address listed in the blue iris webserver on another machine works fine. ( Ikeep this book marked so I can quickly get to it when browsing. )

This happens to be a Blue Iris machine that has Blue Iris V6 loaded on it. This machine worked Fine for many years onV4 then V5 until recently when the SSD failed and I replaced the SSD and reloaded Blue Iris V5, then updated and bought a new Blue Iris V6. This is a stand alone win10 machine that has nothing else loaded or running on it. I know that it is something on this machine since I have another remote site using a win11 machine that I can use the same IOS Blue Iris app on my phone and it displays correctly and no problems. So it should not be IOS Blue Iris app from the app store.

I guess that I should just delete Blue Iris V6 on this win10 box and reload it and see if it then wants to work properly. I just thought that maybe someone else might of had the same problem/or had solution for it.

Thanks again for the inputs.

True but his post title is "UI3 app not showing video, only color bars" and his first post says "Blue Iris app on my Iphone only shows color bars" which is confusing, at least to me...especially when he called UI3 an "app".

So regardless of how it is termed his post title and his post text named BOTH as faulty.....
