Dahua PoE Camera "Power Supply | 12v, PoE (802.3af)"???

I thought all PoE was 48V. Why do the cameras I just purchased (see URL below) list the power supply in the specs as 12V? Can I not use an injector or switch listed as 48V PoE 802.3af for these cameras?

Sure can, it is listed in the specs. Alternatively you can power the camera using 12V off the pigtail.

Actually there is no Powersupply in the package which you can plug in.

The 2 circuit power jack (female) part of the pigtail is 12VDC ONLY and POE onto the Ethernet cable (pin 4 & 5 for DC+ and pins 7 & 8 for DC-) is termed '48VDC' (44 to 57 nominal) but you ONLY PLUG IN ONE OR THE OTHER...NOT BOTH.

You don't need to concern yourself about which pins on the Ethernet cable are used if you use only cables properly terminated as EIA-T568B on both ends or T568A on both ends AND you are plugging them into a POE switch or an NVR with POE ports.
