zwave thermostat - 2gig CT100 - feedback?

I plan to replace my standard thermostats with one that have zwave radio in it. After doing some research, Honeycomb zwave thermostat was the popular one until it was redesigned from buttons to touchscreen version then it seem to have gotten a poor review.

There seem to be another popular zwave thermostats on the market today and it's the
2gig CT100 Z-Wave Programmable Thermostat. It cheaper than the Honeycomb touchscreen too, less than a hunderd.

Anyone here have experience using this brand? Would you share your feedback on it?

I have one CT-100 and 3 CT-101 thermostats (one Radio Thermostats version, 2 Lowe's Iris version)

They work - and don't need a C-Wire (big bonus for me right now). I'm using Homeassistant, and they are a bit quirky in some cases, but do the job. What controller will you be using?

Most likely a Raspberry Pi with an open source home automation software since I have used Pi on other different projects. I already tried out the Domoticz but it seem to have issue with zwave light bulbs so I am going to either try OpenHAB or Homeassistant next.

It isn't made by 2gig, it's made by radio thermostat. It's awfully similar to some rite temp thermostat's I've found positively awful, but I haven't seen too many bad reviews of it.
Another option is the Go Control Zwave thermostat: Amazon.com: GoControl Thermostat, Z-Wave, Battery-Powered, Works with Amazon Alexa: Camera & Photo
branded as made by 2gig's parent company plus it has real buttons and looks better.

Other options I'd consider:
TRANE Thermostat, Z-Wave, Works with Amazon Alexa - - Amazon.com sadly the touchscreen version is cheaper than one of several variants with real buttons
RCS Z-Wave Communicating Thermostat (001-01773) - Programmable Household Thermostats - Amazon.com goes by a few names, but made by rcs. older trane models similar to this one

search forums at domoticz, openhab, smart things, etc for models you're considering. You'll find more useful technical info than your typical amazon review.

I started with OpenHAB, but switched to Homeassistant. Haven't tried OpenHAB 2. The CT-100 and CT-101 seem to be the cheapest Z-Wave thermostats - basic functionality, minimal (or no) scheduling - but that is fine, we have four hot water zones, so that was the only cost effective way to go. I agree check out the other forums (OpenHAB, Homeassistant, Smartthings) for discussions.

For me, it works as a thermostat, batteries last up to about 8 months if you don't have a C Wire, and you have to poll operating state and humidity, but temperature reports / pushes no problem.

I would recommend the CT100 plus. The CT100 is being discontinued and replaced with the plus model which has a Zwave plus module inside.

I seem to remember reading that z-wave plus has improvements such that batteries should last longer.
