What are these cable/RJ45 cover things called and where can I buy more?

Hi guys,

Hoping you guys can help me find some answers. I've searched quite a few websites but still can't find a definitive answer. My LaView cameras came with these sort of ethernet cable connector cover... thing.
I am not actually 100% sure what they are called... which is why I can't seem to correctly find them online.

They are like waterproof/watertight covers for where the male UTP cable/RJ45 connector goes into the female RJ45 receptable/jack of the camera.

I've attached a pic of what I'm trying to find. I've tried searching for "waterproof RJ45 connector", "IP67 cover RJ45" etc... but can't seem to find the same ones my camera came with.

Can anyone please tell me what these things are actually called, and where I can buy more of them?
Are they pretty much a standard type/size?

My Dahua manual calls them waterproof connectors but they probably have several names and you seemed to have searched waterproof connectors already.

Finally! Thanks guys... Wow ok, so further google-fu based on your links points to "cable glands" as the technical name(?)
yeah... I would have NEVER guessed that lol "glands" produce hormones/secretions... not keep water out, that's what seals and gaskets do!

Learn something new everyday I guess.

Anyhow, some of the ones you guys linked to look like they are for use in enclosure boxes (have a long threads with a washer to secure on the other side) rather than like fitting in a female RJ45 pigtail from an IP camera though... I think GaryFunk's link points to what I was looking for.

Anyways I'll read up more on some of these "cable glands"!

No need to worry with them, get some Di-electric grease, put it in the female Rj45, then wrap the connection with coax seal self bonding tape.

I saw that you recommended coax seal self bonding tape how does that compare with self seal silicone tape and in your opinion which is better and why?

I ordered these on June 30 and they arrived today to the USA west coast. With a quick look they appear to be identical to what was included with my latest Dahua camera. Looking closer, the color is slightly lighter than the Dahua parts, and the texturing on the outside of the plastic housing is different. I test mated it to a Hikvision camera I have lying around and it fit correctly (I believe Hik and Dahua rj45 camera connectors are the same). So short of having some actual usage experience, they look good to me. The only sources I found on my own want something in the $5 each ballpark for these.

I've got one vertically coming down a corner of my house and I'm afraid eventually it'll get water inside thru the compression ring and corrode the cameras pigtail. I guess I'll apply some di-electric grease + silicone tape and hope for the best.

You should make a "drip loop" to avoid this.

I do have a drip loop, but the cable gland is still kinda ends up in a vertical position, so I'm still not sure what the best practice is on their positioning.

I still say duc seal, available at Home Despot or Lowes, works very well. Moldable, removable, reusable, doesn't dry out or get hard and seems to last for ever. If you're really worried, wrap that with good quality electrical tape.

I see that they are offered two sizes 17.5 mm & 19.0 which one did you order I try to get ones that will match up with Dahua and HIkvision
