Can BI motion detection setup be used to trigger PTZ presets?

I've been looking at getting the SD49225T-HN PTZ but it does not have auto-tracking, which I hear does not work all that well anyway.

I was wondering if BI can be used to trigger PTZ presets based on motion tracking triggers.

So, for example, My PTZ would sit zoomed full out as overview, ( I don't have one yet) so I set up in BI to detect motion near my mailbox, can I then tell it to turn and zoom in on the mailbox for a period then back to center position full overview preset again after X seconds or when motion stops?

If so, could this be done with multiple different areas, like a trigger to zoom in on the garage in a completely different area if line cross is triggered over there?

If so, say garage motion is triggered shortly after but during a mailbox trigger event...would it's logic be to stay on the mailbox or to stop and switch to the garage?

Just trying to get a feel for what I could do with a nice PTZ and BI rules.

I could see that for say by the back door or garage I guess, but I'd have to run a sensor to each spot Id want to trigger... not sure how I'd do that for say somewhere out in the yard, like my jon boat at the lake shore about 150 ft away.

I was also just thinking, even if I could trigger different preset zooms for motion in different spots, how would I make it go back to a full wide home position at some time after the motion trigger anyway...
So maybe even though people say the auto tracking in PTZs suck, I may need a PTZ with that feature anyway for something like this.

Most ptz you can set a time limit for the cam to return to home position

Did you ever do this?
I live on a lake and was wanting to do the same thing..... auto zoom in on boats when they entered a certain location then return the camera to home after no activity.

I purchased the camera but have had no time to figure out how the heck to get this big thing way up on the house where I need it (30 ft up in the peak of the back wall of the house) and I really need some help to do it safely. So until then it remains unopened in the box.

You should really open it up and bench test it for several days. Lot easier than finding something wrong 30ft up.
