what are your PoE needs? there are different (in some case, cheaper) solutions.
Typically, 8 port (PoE and standard) are fanless, including the one you linked so not quite sure where the noise factor is coming from.

Check into BV-Tech brand for their offerings. They are a much better deal than what you linked. This is just one of many available from them. Price vs features makes it an attractive option to consider. non SFP that are even cheaper

Hello Xmfan,
Thanks for the reply.
That link came from the wiki on this forum. That is why that switch is on my radar. Yes, it does have a fan. I am not sure what you mean by what are my PoE needs? I plan to connect 8 IP cams if that helps?

Your link is def cheaper.

From reading the description of the link you provided, I didn't see anything about it having a fan, quite possible I may have missed it. I did search through the posted questions for that product and someone specifically asked if it has a fan and there was a reply of a 'no'. So, based on that was my feedback of no fans. TBH, I personally have not come across any 8port switches/PoE that HAVE a fan.

In my case I went with ubiquiti products PoE switch. It is 150W with two SFP ports and still, it is fanless.

For me, it will be a first if there is one in an 8port switch. can you link where you saw it has a fan? all that fan talk, yes/no/yes/no, now I am really curious :p

In regards to my question about PoE needs, how many cameras are you planning to connect? The rating on the one you linked one is 53W. The one I linked is 96W. This is something you should keep in mind.

In summary, consider something other than what you linked, there are better deals to be had.

Hi Farnk !
I have a couple of these TPlink1500.
They are loud, more loud than my bigger Cisco.
But they are nice !
Gig, both web and cli and with the two Sfp ports you get 2 more nonpoe ports for uplink.
They comes with 19’ brackets.

And they are Poe+ not so many CAMs use Poe+ except big PTZs but if you are using a ”poe splitter” as the Chinese call them it Can be useful with Poe+.

Inside of the house (living part) I have simple POE switches without fans, but with bulky powersupply for lab.
