Hi, just thought I’d let you know I’ve just upgraded to 5, seamlessly, no problems at all.

Thought it may help some of you wondering whether to make the jump or not.

Must certainly be a lucky dip for everyone.

Sounds like you haven't uninstalled 4 yet. Unless they have updated something to fix the install problems. I just looks on the BI website and there is a version 5.0.0.44 dated today.

Sounds like you dont use specific Motion config. (HD, Shadows, Gaussian)

Wonder if it's best to leave Version 4 alone? Have been thinking of renaming the Program Files' version 4 folder as a precaution.

I wouldn’t be worried about leaving BI4 installed, but I would not run it after you have 5 installed. Later on after new features are added changes will be made to the registry structure which could conflict with BI4, especially if you were to make configuration changes in BI4.

I do use HD and Shadows.

Or he’s used the latest which according to some reports does fix some of the upgrade issues?

Yes just looked and it is ver 5.0.0.44.

I upgraded yesterday too...no issues. Did not have to change www folder either. Still running great today. Only issue I see is when accessing via www...chrome gets redirected to http://192.168.13.60:81/default.htm and not the /ui3 page. Even with that setting on. Otherwise it's running fine.

Yes, the ui3.htm web server application needs to be downloaded and installed. In my case, I went to the 'Manual Installation' section at the bottom of this page, downloaded the zip file, and extracted it into the \Blue Iris 5\www\ folder, overwriting all files: bp2008/ui3

The www folder problem happens when you uninstall BI4, unless yesterdays update fixed this problem.

Hmm. Not sure. I had installed the first iteration of BI5 on June 1st, left the BI4 intact, and the ui3.htm application was not present in that build.

I'm not sure you need to do that anymore. UI3 was in 5 and accessable if you go to http://IPADDR:PORT/UI3.htm. It looks like there is a checkbox to default to this on non IE browsers...just doesn't seem to be working. A simple redirect from default.htm should be all that's needed for me.

EDIT: and a reboot fixed that for me. So UI3 working as default in ver 5 with ver 4 uninstalled. I changed nothing manually.
