Today I learned: Don’t use the Dahua toolbox/config tool. Log in directly to camera ip to change settings. Finally got the time stamp correct.

Why is that? Did you use the latest version? I found issues with having a backdated config tool and smartpss causing issues. Reinstall helped.

So today I ran some Cat6 to the cameras permanent spot and got it up and running on BI. Next, figure out how to safely remote access it. Need to figure out VPN or stunnel.

Thinking I may want a PTZ in another spot as opposed to fixed. Back into the depths of the forum I go to do my research.

I also noticed a bunch of amazon echo things in the settings, hopefully integration so I can view cameras on my echo show.
Let me know what you go with. I am using Stunnel until I get VPN setup through asus:
What are you using/doing to make your camera more secure?

I have no idea. It was latest version downloaded direct from Dahua.

I set up openvpn on my synology NAS. Works great.
