I am curious as to how they got the same low light performance as the previous 2mp 203 models with this new 4Mp version. Since they dont list shutter speed, they might be playing games. They should all be at 1/30s for consistency.

They claim 4x optical, but my math says that it is still 3x, with a bit narrower FOV min and max.

Andy, when you will start selling this one? I would rather get this one, than the 2MP one from Amazon.

Excellent point, I'm content with the 2mp model for now. This 4mp model should have been released under the AI-series

Does it have a built-in mic like SD1A203T-GN has? Data sheet seems a bit loveless on that (says only "Port Audio In 1").

It has a built-in mic. I'm selling the 2mp version which is in like-new mint condition for $130 (includes UPS Shipping). If you're interested, let me know :)

I'd like to get this mini ptz for my backyard, but I'm unclear as to what parts I would need to mount it. Dahua does not list a ceiling junction box model on this cam's spec sheet. DH-SD1A404XB-GNR PTZ data sheet

My mounting location would be on the soffit shown here, just to the right of the loudspeaker, near the small round vent. There is no attic access above, so I called an installer who said he could get a CAT6 cable run up behind the soffit coming from my basement wiring closet.

I would think I need a round juction box mounted onto the soffit, but none is listed on the data sheet.
I also need to drop the camera down due to its recessed location, see this pic.

The drop would need to be close to 8 inches, as the cam will be aimed outward a bit, and also to avoid the IR reflection. The data sheet does list these two items:

But those two items cost about $90 total (pole is 30" long). Is there a cheaper or better way to finish this install? If not, I'll buy the parts as I do want a clean install.
But wouldn't I still need a junction box at the top to hold the connections? I don't know what box would fit this PFB 220C.

Any advice would be appreciated.

There's no junction box for mounting these to a soffit, for some reason these have a weird design unlike most of the other cameras. They have a thin metal plate that mounts to your soffit and then you're on your own from there. You can either build a small box of some sort or you may want to look into different models. Maybe check out the SD22204UE-GN, I think there's a 4MP version available too not sure if it's starlight though.

I had to make my own modifications to an Amazon purchased mount. Mine will be installed on a wall, though. Next to the sliding door(eye level).
