I currently write a service that interacts with Dahua Cameras and posts snapshots on events...I was thinking about expanding it to take a detection clip rather than single image.

Which then led me down a path of where can I be notified of a video and view it. The options I see are a private slack workspace (I already have one of these), or using a dedicated private youtube channel.

Any other places that might be applicable? I'm not really after storage....I just really want a notification, with the video (I'm IOS based) so I can view the clip. If I need proper storage, then I'll be pulling the clip off my NVR.

Well it should be super straightforward to dump the clips into dropbox, google drive, etc, and send your notification with a link to the video there.

BlueIris saves my alert clips (photos) to my local OneDrive folder. OneDrive automatically syncs them up to OneDrive on the web.

Yeah i did have similar with google photos, going to an account. THe advantage of youtube/slack is you can play them there in their interfaces....and notifications.

Of course the disagvantage of youtube is being able to lock it down enough so that none of it is public
