Is everything else working? In the App? Have you tried VLC stream? I do not have a NVR so I would not be able to help in it's settings. Maybe you have to turn off Image Encryption in the App, though I do not have to using Blue Iris. Let us know the model of your NVR, there are several here using Hikvision NVRs.
I am using Hikvision 16CH 16 Ports PoE DS-7616NI-E2/16P . I am using hikconnect app, it works fine except for waking up when the bell is pressed

Funny you should ask that precise question. I was attempting to probe CN2 when the badness happened.

See the two large holes above CN2 (one directly above CN2 and one slightly to the right of that)? Those are the power contacts that mate with the brass posts visible in the top half of the assembly. Those posts are connected to the input screws on the back of the doorbell and they are fed power from the AC transformer. I had alligator clips on those contacts to power the unit for testing. When I nudged one of the clips to probe CN2, the clip jumped off the contact and landed on the board surface -- which is bristling with shiny things that expect around 3vdc, not 16vac. Didn't see/hear any arc, but the LEDs went dark and the unit shows no sign of ever coming back to life.

My reason for exploring CN2 was an attempt to unbrick it after a bad firmware upgrade.
Probing will get you every time :)

need some better clips! ;-) but I must say, I’ve been there and boy it stings when you see this play out. Always worse is that it keeps playing out in your mind for several hours as you stew on it. Sorry man.
@David L Thanks for the kind words. I tried to share with everyone because I was going to do it anyway! Love the DIY model of IOT / Smarthome

It has been mentioned, from a few iPhone users, that if you have a lock screen on your phone they where not getting the doorbell button press phone calls, not sure if this is still the case. Also, we have found this feature to not always be reliable at times. We blame "The Cloud" :)
Though ours is working fine now, last pressed Thursday, though I missed the call.

I think I bricked my EZVIZ DB1. I successfully loaded the LA View firmware on it, but then had the RCA logo show up so I tried to revert back to the EZVIZ firmware. The device has hung up at that point and now has a solid red ring. I've tried holding the reset button for 10 seconds and turned power off/on to no avail. Any other tricks to try?

On another note, what is the process for upgrading from EZVIZ firmware to LA View firmware on the EZVIZ DB1 to ensure there is no RCA logo?

So your message reminds me of Tomgar issues, I would read his messages, do a search for Tomgar By: Member and change Everywhere to This thread.

I had read through his issues already. I can't get mine to show anything, but a solid red ring. I've removed the device from the app and tried to re-add it, but the device will not show up. I'm power it off and back on 4-5 times already. The reset button seems to do absolutely nothing.

I searched LaView's troubleshooting site, but only mentions flashing red...

With today's larger firmwares, you often have to hold the reset button in for over 60 full seconds to achieve a successful firmware flash.

So not much out there, I would say chat/contact EZVIZ's support or Nelly's or LaView's tomorrow. I would not tell them anything about firmware. You have a year warranty, worse case.

Did you get it from Amazon? Are you within the 30 day return policy? Amazon.com Help: Return Items You Ordered
We just returned something to Amazon, wild but we were able to take it to Kohl's, they label and package and send back to Amazon for free.

Hi
I installed the LA View firmware on my EZVIZ DB1 Video Door Bell as mentioned on Page 69, selected the ONVIF protocol, correct IP via SADP. It shows its configured on my NVR(Hikvision)
but when I go playback., says "No record file'. What could be the reason for that ?
I don't have a Hik NVR but my HSDB2A has been recording 24x7 fine on my Dahua 5xxx-4KS2 series NVR since January via both RTSP(pre Oct) and ONVIF(post Oct) configs.

I went ahead and got a replacement EZVIZ DB1 coming from Amazon. Regarding the logo on the video feed, I believe I turned it "on" before I updated to the La View firmware. Thus is went for a EZVIZ to RCA logo. I reckon I need try it with it "off" this go around? I'm trying to avoid having to go back from the La View to EZVIZ firmware since that is when mine got bricked.

So...after an initial nice period, I've become underwhelmed with this doorbell cam. So far I can't get the motion detection to work well at all - either it detected EVERYTHING (any car driving by) with the 9ft setting or nothing at all with the 5 ft setting.

And it keeps freezing up in MotionEye after a period of time or when there's motion.

I knew it couldn't have been as easy as I thought it would be :)

So i found the transformer it was right at the elctrical box lol. I also bought a compatible chime. Next step i guess is to use the compatible chime? If it still doesnt work i guess i have to change the transformer ?
Good deal in your find. Hey so I looked at your pic and saw No. 590, looks like is may be an Edwards Signaling. If its is the right one, your voltage is way too low. You need to replace it.

So can you tell us which firmware you loaded on your EZVIZ to get the RCA Logo? Does the EZVIZ have a Logo?, if not then just load LaView firmware.
I guess my question is can you let us know what order and what firmware you loaded?

LaView firmware

Thanks
