The neighbor up the street had is catalytic convertor stolen the other night. I was able to get video of the car going by and he license plate which was tough. The car is 20 years old along with the plates and they do not show up that well. I will not show the longer video but a short edited one of the car going by both ways.

does the neighbor have a garage at all? If so, maybe he/she should consider securing their XX-thousand dollar car in it instead of the couple hundred dollars worth of junk.

Really I have no idea what the situation is there. I'm just postulating that case. I see this a LOT in my town though. People complain about their car getting rummaged or items stolen when they did nothing to secure it. Yes....in an ideal world, we should be able to leave piles of cash unguarded right in the front yard and people not pilfer and steal. Unfortunately, we don't live in an ideal world.

While I'm rolling here, I'll answer the question that someone may wonder. "Ok area651, would you help your neighbor?" The answer is it depends. If they're an ok person who didn't know or got caught exposed then yes, I would. If they were someone who never even waves at me when I wave at them coming and going..........nah.

He has 3 vehicles plus a small trailer for the dirt bikes. No more room in the garage plus his 4X4 F350 truck is too tall to fit in the garage.

I've heard this before too. Sounds like he's living beyond his means then. If he can't afford to secure things, when things get stolen (or messed with), he shouldn't be surprised.

I don't mean to be a d1ck about it. I'm just looking at the facts of the situation (from my limited perspective at least). I've seen people in my area buy a 5k sqft house and complain because they can't fit their Suburban into the garage. As if the garage changed sizes since they bought the house! lol.... That garage was that size when you did your walk through prior to buying it. So either they had the house first and then chose a vehicle (or chose to get several vehicles) they couldn't fit into a secure spot. OR....they had the vehicles first and then chose a house that couldn't meet their needs. It all boils down to the same thing though. Secure your valuables. If you don't, in today's world, they're likely to get messed with. It sucks. I hate it and wish the world wasn't like that. But the choice might be to move somewhere isolated enough that this is unlikely to happen. Its still COULD. But hopefully it wouldn't.
