Nice footage and glad you are learning your camera and what it can do.

Parley,

Are you getting FR and ANPR? Are you getting hits while auto-tracking with this camera?

Ok, I have some video montage from this afternoon showing the auto-tracking feature of this camera. The good, the bad and the ugly. Hahaha

That is pretty good, So How I have my auto tracking is I do have LPR and LPR over view cameras. All together about 4 just for these task. So What I do with Auto Tracking is I am not worried about vehicle identification. More For Facial now. So I use the filter to track human so I can get as clear as shot to identify them.

Day time my camera does a darn good job night time Because of the lighting it does struggle. Again that is because I choose it to be Color instead of B/w I might soon change that once my 35mm sensor one goes up for that task..

I think your auto track is working the way it is designed again Like I said it is always good at times there are times it also goes wacko or dont work.

However You can try with just human filter and see if that is what you want or do you want to track everything which moves.. There are quiet a few options specially with our camera since it has AI and deep learning :D How good that deep learning is I am not sure I dont know if mine has really learned anything.. Maybe someone can get us some more input on the DEEP IVS .. stuff.

Once again I love your camera 4/3 sensor is amazing yours will do an amzing job at night with auto track :D

I do not have this camera set up for face recognition or ANPR. I do have 4 cameras dedicated to recording license plates but there is no data base for them. From the specification sheet.

"AI series products adopt the most advanced AI technologies, including deep learning algorithms that primarily target people and vehicles, which provides higher flexibility and accuracy for end-users. "

I will say this camera does seem to be getting better at tracking as time has gone by today.

Some interesting thoughts. I will give it a few days and look into the human filter. As of now I do not know where it is located. Like you I have 4 other cameras just for license plates. At times there is a lot of traffic, both vehicle and pedestrian and the camera just picks one and goes for it. It does seem to be learning on its own compared to earlier today.

For my License plate data. I am using OpenALPR on my PC and then thanks to @Gymratz and @DLONG2 for making a tool which can also hold the database of license plates :) I did setup mine on the PC so I can track/tag all the plates system see.

I also did put a guide together when I was building mine again I am not a programmer. So I put what I basically had to do to get mine to work hope it can help someone else.

Watching the camera this morning, I have to say that those " deep learning algorithms" seem to be working. The tracking of this camera has improved and is doing things it was not doing yesterday. However the main problem is the cars parked along the street which hinder the tracking along with the stop sign. Too many objects in the way to keep the camera from fully doing its job. Last night when it was dark out the camera would not pick up on some people or cars moving. I will watch tonight to see if it improves from the algorithms.

Unfortunately you won't be able to do anything about that unless you set your target size to 65-100 so it zooms in more to get a good capture before they reach the car. I have the same problem in my street just work around it. Ai id definitely worth having.

No worries, I was considering purchasing this camera and I had seen this video ( ) online and I was just curious about how you thought it performed in that regard in your installation. Just from a pure curiosity perspective, why not utilize FR using the camera? It would seem to make sense to utilize the capabilities of each of your cameras where ever it's possible to do so, so as to maximize your investment or am I missing something?

I asking because I'm still learning and hoping to glean a nugget or more of insight from your experience.

I did 3 things this afternoon. I enable Face Recognition, I backed the camera out some for a wider picture because of the auto tracking feature and added some more trip wires. We shall see what happens. Here is a photo of the resize.

The problem I am having with the auto-tracking is that if there are multiple cars and/or people it will only pick one and track it. I then lose the tracking of the video on the other objects. Decisions, decisions. :)

Image quality is great (except when it is lost or corrupted), but focus and auto-tracking is terrible
also where did gray car go? at 13:36:37
it then jumps to 13:38.
2 minutes just lost?

Can I just say that Image quality daytime is the best I have seen on any camera when it locks focus. Now here is the issue I see and it is a BIG issue "FOCUS" the camera seams to struggle to lock focus on the moving subject while auto tracking it just seams to back focus then front focus back and forth until it eventually locks on then the subject moves again and again focus problem.

I am not sure if this is the settings you have applied as their will be many on this particular camera and could just be a simple setting as in focus distance setting.

I disagree with Auto tracking is terrible it looks ok to me and you have a lot of obstacles in the camera's FOV ( field Of View) and I have the same problems on my 49225.

I would say it is in the settings. I have learned a lot since then with my other Dahua PTZ . For one thing I never adjusted the tracking size. Also a lot of blind spots for that camera and that is why I did some switching around with my cameras.

My Dahua PTZ DH-SD5A425XA-HNR now covers the lower part of that picture. Here is a still photo from that camera.

And a still shot this morning from my Dahua 4K PTZ DH-SD8A820WA-HNF. I added a 2nd photo that is more focused on the area I want after I noticed that the first photo was ever so slightly out of focus in the distance. I do not care about the focus on the stop sign as I have other cameras covering that area. :)

An absolute newb question... Is that type of video possible via Blue Iris? Im just getting into it a little more and recently got Blue Iris setup with some cheap cams. Next step is decent PTZ cams, im hoping Blue Iris will do the auto track and zoning as well as what you have.

Blue Iris is just a recorder the same as a NVR and if you wanted this quality it would cost you not $18 for cheap cams but $1800. All the auto tracking including setting up the intrusion and tripwire zones are done via the camera's GUI ( Web Interface ) along with the auto tracking setting up. In Blue Iris you configure it to those settings if that makes sense.

If you are looking for an affordable PTZ then look at the SD49225-XA 20x PTZ which is not only affordable it performs really well for it's price point for a budget PTZ

Got it. For some reason I was under the impression BI was a replacement for the camera's GUIs but it sounds like both are utilized. And thanks for the tip on the cam. Looks like a $350-400 camera, not out of my price range but probably something ill work towards after at least getting full property coverage. Been looking at the 5442 thats been mentioned in many threads. Looks like a happy medium in price and function
