I installed a small 5 camera system this weekend for a friend. It's a Nelly's R-series or Ray Sharp 8ch. NVR 8-NVR4K, 4 R-Series 5MP Varifocal Turret Dome, and 1 Dahua IPC-HFW5231E-Z12E 2MP 5.3mm ~64mm for long distance around 250'-300' for a gate. Hoping they will add a pole later so can mount closer. Anyways, all is well except the Dahua it's fine in the day but looks like an IR issue at night and not sure if it's a lens/housing issue and light bleed or what. So before doing an RMA seeing if there where any thoughts. @EMPIRETECANDY I won't be back out there till maybe this weekend.

Or possible IR reflection off the gutter - the top cover doesn't slide much, but if you slide the top cover out as far as it goes, it might be enough. That camera looks like the top cover wasn't slid forward.
Ok, I'll let them know and to check on that and if needed to move it forward some and see what happens.

Camera has some vapor in, this will disappear itself 2-3 days using. Camera shipped from wet HONGKONG, so sometimes camera inside has some wet air, in the night, the camera IR on, bit warmer inside and meet the cold air outdoor will have some condensation. This happens sometimes. Just wait 2-3days should be OK.
If you want to clear up fast, just use a drier to dry the camera, just open the camera from the front. There has a cover, just take it off use a knife, will have 4 screws inside, just open up it.

That does look like IR bounce, How is the R series NVR treating you, I heard they are pretty stable for basic uses.

Great so far re

Actually surprised for the price and to be verifocal is a nice bonus. They seem a little slower in response than Dahua or HK. but great for the price nice weight and all metal no plastics on the turrets.
I'll see if they don't mind and I'll get more picture if I can next time I'm out there. If I hadn't went from LTS DVR to Dahua/HK as I like some of the extras like line crossing and intrusion don't use or haven't messed with much else on them.
I would buy the R-series for basic use over a DVR or box set like Sam's Club or Costco any day.

Well should of searched more :D, found an older post on this and will show them this as well so maybe they can resolve it if not moisture/vapor, and they don't have to wait on me to get out there.

You could also mount it on a junction box and that will lower it down away from the soffit and should get the ir lights off the soffit. As i did on my house, i have my Zoomed in camera, (IPC T2231T- ZS) on a piece of cedar as well as a junction Box to lower it past the soffit edge. I have my overview camera (HDW 2431T-AS) mounted against the soffit, because i do not use the IR, i run it in color 24 hours a day.

This is why testing a proposed location is always a good idea before mounting, for at least 24hrs.
The IR on that cam is very strong, doesn't take much to get IR bounce back.
Good to know, I just installed where they wanted since they built the house and knew the easiest places to get to, as it was all spray foam around 8" thick and in the walls as well, so wasn't much fun and broke several fiber rods.

Holly crap. 5.3mm ~ 64mm!!

Anyway;
IR reflection likely from gutter. Or possibly the hood, try sliding the hood back as far as it will allow.
Yea, I needed something for around 250'-300' and it worked out pretty good for the distance. I let them know the possible issues and will see if they resolve it or not. If not I'll go back out there and see.

So this may be an obvious one but is the protective clear plastic cover removed from lens?

I just got the same camera , actually 5241 version, from Andy and was in such a hurry to install, I forgot to remove the cover!
