@alexvas

I've read all the threads here and googled as well but I'm unable to find the information I'm looking for.

I have a LOREX NV916X NVR that currently has 2 Lorex onvif POE cams. More cams to be added soon.

The TV is a Sony Bravia 900F series TV which is using an Android based OS 8.0.0 kernel Ver 3.10.79. The TV is on WiFi.

I've tried another monitoring app from the TV's Google Play store without success. It will allow me to see ch 1 but when It finds Ch 2 it just duplicates the ch 1 feed even when Ch 2 is selected in the camera setup. I'm tired of wasting my time with it.

When I check the TV's Google Play store it shows that tinyCam Pro is available as well, but not the trial version. I have no problem paying for the PRO version and could just roll the dice for $4 but it would be nice to know if it will work correctly for monitoring live feeds before I spend the time and effort attempting to configure it.

Has anyone successfully used tinyCam on a Sony TV that can speak to the viability of it working?

Thank you for your time and attention.

Yes.
I have a 65" Sony Bravia XBR65X930D, purchased Oct. 2016, running Android based OS 7, kernel Ver 3.10.79. The TV is on Wi-Fi.
  • I have streamed RTSP directly from a Dahua-built Amcrest IP2M-841, also on Wi-Fi.
  • I have streamed a MJPEG 'group' of cams from Blue Iris.
  • I have streamed from a Sercomm RC4551 that is currently inside a bluebird house.
I recommend that you spend the $4 for TinyCam Pro...it's a bargain.

IMO, it takes some getting used to the menu tree, it's not super intuitive, at least not to me.
TIP: if you have trouble entering/selecting a typed entry because you cannot arrow over to "OK", just select "BACK" on the Sony remote and the "OK" will be available for selection.

Thanks so much TonyR That's exactly what I needed to hear. I'll be purchasing/installing it today.

Update: Setup completed without issue.

Using the discovery option, tinyCam found my NVR, along with bunch of other devices that weren't my NVR. I was then able to add both cams without issue. Live view uses software decoding. HW decoding didn't work. The frame rate is a bit of a slide show but it works when viewing my main feed.

Thanks again TonyR for the confirmation.
