I was put on to Tailscale by a colleague at work. It makes creating VPN's a breeze, you basically log in on your devices (up to 100 with a solo account for free) and you're connected.

Anyone have any thoughts on security of this type of VPN or have experience with mesh VPN? It's all SSO with cycling certificates/keys so I'm thinking it is on par with normal VPN, but looking to the real network wiz's to correct me.

I'm testing it out with BI now and its working seamlessly between the BI computer, iOS, laptop on different networks and on mobile LTE. Almost no tinkering required, just install, log in, and connect.

I just learned about Tailscale today and while searching around, I discovered your post. Could you provide an update? I usually connect to my BI on my phone through Wireguard which does the job. Are there any advantages with Tailscale?

Is there no configuration needed?
I've been using TS for quite a while but only to access my NAS when I'm outside.

As of now my BI webserver is using a different local IP from the machine it's installed on, that's just the default setting I get from BI setting, is there anything else I should do on the machine?

How do I route it through TS? Haven't actually tried anything.
