I have a Dahua NVR model NVR-5216-16P-4KS2E and need to add a camera to the system.

I want to view a house that is 150' from my house. I need to see the front of the house that is approx 70' wide. It is very important that the camera sees well in low light.

Currently using a Dahua SD22404T-GN for this and it is awful in low light.

The camera does not need to be a PTZ, good low light performance is most important.

Thanks

Look at the B5442B-Z12. Low light and good zoom. Also check local and state laws regarding watching another house with video.

You're probably right, samplenhold, but the 5442 series is still the goto. I could have sworn I saw somebody mention a Z12 though. Could be faulty memory, gotta run memtest!

Beats me, I use Blue Iris but maybe one of the Dahua NVR experts can chime in.

It would help us give recommendations if you gave a little more info on what you are attempting to accomplish.

Are you trying to ID faces at 150'? Are you just wanting to see what is going on at 150' away? Do you expect to give physical descriptions of people that far away? Do you need 70' wide field of view at that distance? When you say sees well in low light, are you talking color or B&W on IR?

A little info on the B5442E-Z4E (aka HFW5442E-Z4E):

This cam is a bullet with 4MP on a 1/1.8" sensor. It is a varifocal cam with lens 8-32mm and has a min illumination of 0.002 Lux @ F1.6 for color. IR distance is up to 394ft.

At full zoom (32mm) it has a horizontal angle of view of 15 degrees. So at 150' the field of view would be about 40 feet wide.

This is just what I am looking for!

I sent a email to Andy at Empiretech for a price.

I only have test shots, and here is one at full zoom just about dusk. I had not made adjustments to the exposure as I was just testing out locations at that time. The car is about 80 feet from the cam.
