safe to upgrade from 3.216.0000000.0, Build Date: 2018-06-05 or what steps precautions to avoid turning into a brick ?

The update details added.
Attention:For the NVR uploading you better update step by step, if you update the 2018 to 2020, 70% will brick it. Because dahua changed some hardwares when they update the device, but model Name never change.
So that is why we need to keep updating the devices.

@seanw7, I have a 4108-P-4KS2. When I bought it earlier this year it had 2017 firmware. Since February this year, I have updated it each time @EMPIRETECANDY has posted the new firmware for that NVR. So I originally went from 3.215 to version 4.0 and did each incremental update through the various 4.0000.1 versions right up to this one. If you go through the various threads of firmware for your model you will find a couple of locations where you can also also download the firmwares. One such place is Index of /images/Files/Firmware

I have updated now to this latest firmware with no issues in the update process. I would go through Andy’s threads or use the link above and locate the firmwares he has posted and do each upgrade incrementally. But, your experience may differ from mine in the upgrading process - good luck.

Thanks. Upgraded but now I can't see the kamera list in LIVE view. No selection possible. In setup - kamera list all kameras are listed. Someone the same issue?

No, i assume this is from the web console and not some software. when you go to camera list you can see all your cameras and they are registered with green status dot beside each ?
what version did you upgrade from ?
what is the model of camera ?
are all your cameras the same model ?

can you log directly onto the camera - > internet explorer icon in the camera list. -> check if you can view the camera ok here.
might be option to factory reset one to test if rebooted hasnt worked.

I had the same problem in a previous upgrade. I suppose you are talking about browser interface, so try from another browser and/or pc. Then, if this works, try to clean cookies or some other information in your browser (I performed some browser clean up before I fixed the problem).

I change the browser and also i changed to a different pc. It is the same problem.. No kamera list on the left side in the LIVE view

what is the model of camera ? Foscam FI9900EP V3
are all your cameras the same model ? Yes, all the same Firmware except one

Thanks for the information. I have a fairly similar setup a 5208-8p-4ks2 with 8 IPC-HDW2231R-ZS cameras.
I have been paranoid about updating the system hearing about all of the people bricking their NVR or having functional problems once updated.

How do you like the new software compared to your original version?

I am running the exact original firmware as you.

I change the browser and also i changed to a different pc. It is the same problem.. No kamera list on the left side in the LIVE view
i've seen this issue before after NVR upgrade, i just needed to clear my browser cache and the issue is resolved....

Switched back fro 4.xx to 3.xx?? Very strange. Dahua support told me this was not possible..
