When we fall back and turn the clocks from 2 am back to 1 am, what happens to the first recording from 1 am to 2 am?

I have a Dahua DHI-NVR5216-4KS2.

So I opened up SmartPSS this morning, and this is what I see for 00:30:00 to 02:30:00:

Looks like I can only retrieve one of the two recordings from 01:00 to 02:00 - and I'm not sure which it is - the first or the second - today is 25 hours long, but SmartPSS is just showing it as a 24 hour day

Similiar with the webgui on the NVR:

However, the Google Nest cam is showing the 25 hour day, and allows me to view both 01:00 to 02:00 recordings:

I think what I’m going to do is just setup the dahua nvr to run on UTC, that way I don’t lose an hour of recording next year in the fall again

Really disappointed that dahua didn’t implement DST properly

This is from a Hikvision NVR when DST ended, last weekend. The hour repeats, and no alerts are lost.
The detail is a bit hard to see.

Yeah, that’s what the Google Nest does, and I was expecting the Dahua to do the same, but the Dahua doesn’t. DST is broken on both the Dahua nvr, and on the Dahua cams (I have SD cards in the cams and they don’t show both 1-2 am recordings either)

Good point. Just checked my NVR and indeed I'm only seeing one period of 02:00 - 03:00. So I'm missing an hour of footage too...

@EMPIRETECANDY Is this something Dahua can solve in a (firmware) update?

This may become a less important issue since the EU want to abolish daylight saving time (DST)...

I guess if you were in some high security facility or somewhere where critical video footage may be needed many days/weeks/months after the fact it might be important. If so, I’d simply pick a time I’m going to change and archive the hour in question beforehand.

For the other 99% if home users, not sure it matters much ?

I would consider this a bug, not a lacking feature - the Dahua software clearly tries to support DST - yet it is buggy in the actual implementation

Not disagreeing with you, just saying for the majority it’s probably a non issue. I still find bugs in Windows

Just verified my cameras and NVR.
Same thing - 1 hour is lost.
That is just embarrassing!
@EMPIRETECANDY can you please report this bug to dahua?
We're losing 1h of recording!
