Hi,

I have Hikvision NVR 7108N-SN/P, and I'm using iVMS-4500 lite over ios8.x.

When trying to set alarm notification, by going to menu->Alarm->Set Alarm Notification and checking my NVR, I get "Connection failed." message.

Both 8000 & 554 (Server & RTSP) ports are open.

Any idea on why the connection is failing?

All other things seems to be working.

iVMS-4500 version: 4.2.1 (Build 20150920)
My NVR FW settings:
Version: V3.0.7 build 140725
Encoding: V5.0 build 140704

Another thing that doesn't seem to work correctly is the email notification on the NVR. This is a gmail address with all required configurations in-place, I don't really have a way to directly test it as in my NVR http i/f there is no test option, but when setting motion detection and picking 'Send Email' I dont get anything. I did received an email from Gmail (once) that an app that doesn't meet the modern security standards tried to sign-in to my account.

Thanks!

Hi,

Thanks.

For the alarm notification, yes would appreciate your help.
I'm reluctant to upgrade the firmware, since I read around it caused issues to few people w/ language version mismatch (ordered my NVR from the far-east and have English version installed), so unless I have a very safe fallback (such as having the ability to revert to the current firmware), I'm not going to upgrade.

I think I did all the steps by opening the ports and configuring one of the CAMs to send email:

The event does trigger (tested it by enabling audible warning..).

One thing that doesn't look good is the 'Alarm Settings' menu, which doesn't allow saving anything and the drop-down 'Alarm Output' field is empty.
Do I need to set anything there to allow the alarm notification??

For the email issue, I turned on the option mentioned to allow less secured apps to access the gmail account, but I don't get any email.
Again, my only indication is the motion detection (I didn't see any 'test' option when setting the account).
I did check my settings several times:

@sereztalset the prefered dns server to 8.8.8.8 (google)...
Thanks! Setting the DNS server to google, did the trick for the email.

Now there is the first issue posted, recap: setting the alarm push notification for the NVR into the surveillance center (the iVMS-4500 app on my ios8, soon to become ios9), which currently gives 'connection failed' error when trying to to check the NVR inside the 'Alarm->Set Alarm Notification' menu.

Hi,

See the screen shot of the connection failed when trying to enable it in iVMS-4500 lite:

Any idea on why I'm getting it?
Anything I need to enable on the NVR to be able to allow it?

Thanks

I thought I'd ask anyways.

Everything else works fine for the NVR over the internet on the phone? IE Live view, remote playback and etc

So youve tried over wifi as well?

Did you have two separate 'devices' in iVMS-4500 for the public IP access and internal access?

I asked if you tried it for both Wifi (Internal network/LAN), and 3G (External network/WAN).

This would normally mean you have two 'devices' listed in iVMS-4500 as you need to set two different IP addresses.

The settings for the NVR in the 'device' section means that you have your external IP address listed?

Basically you're looping back through the internet back into your own network.

Try it again on the local network, that is over WiFi and add the NVR as another device with the local address for the NVR.

Hi ive got this same problem although one camera works for the push notification.

I cant get push notifications working for all cameras except one 3mp cube.

Get failed connection.

Tried from lan at both ends and from wan (4g).

Ive got

1x 4mp dome
1x 3mp dome
2x 3mp cube

One 3mp dome i cant get enabled and it works well on PIR notification.

All my email notifications work fine, connectivity, access via ivms and tinycampro.

Its a hard one i havent resolved.

Hi Guys you owe me one,,, ha kidding I just repaying all the kind info I got from fender, michellin man, Klasper, and some guy in ozzy that gave me a serve once oh yeah that was Michelin man :)

Look I'm not sure if this will fix your issue but it fixed mine. I had one 3mp cube working, but do you think I could get the other enabled on either the ivms or iVMS HD.

Here's the work around I did to get it enabled, and then subsequently tested and it works once I put the config back to normal.

1. Trying to turn on "Push Alarm" for a device in iVMS get either "connection fail" or "server timeout" or like.
2. Connect via WiFi locally to your network where the cameras are.
3. In iVMS change your device config "address" from the DNS domain e.g. hikvisioncamera.noip.me to the local static IP address of that camera e,g, 192.1.168,100
4. In same change the port from the external port that is port forwarded e.g 8001 -> 8000 to the default for hikvision cameras change to 8000.
5. Hit Liveview to check that you can see the video from the camera locally, if you can you are good to go.
6. At this point go into the iVMS section for alarm push and enable that camera - this should now work and stay enabled.
7. Back out of this go back to "address" and restore the domain name, and restore the port to the former values that work on the open internet.
8. Make sure on your local cameras "notify survailence center" is checked.
9. Connect back to the wider internet 4g or ISP and test

This sequence helped me today to get it enabled on a camera that would not enable formerly. I tested it and I now get PIR and Motion Detection Push Notifications on the wider internet.

Hope this solves some peoples issues - as there's lots of interest in these topics e.g. 1000+ views.
DONT FORGET the "thanks" if it works I've got none so far. :) PS notice I've got a few since I last logged in.

Yes, this works. But there is no quick way to turn notifications on or off, without going through the set up procedure every time every time you want to turn on or off. PITA!
Is there an alternative app that does work?
Or is there a better fix?
