The Boobie Cam gets an update!
I reviewed the previous version of this camera here: Link

This cameras claim to fame is that all important parameters can be set individually on each camera now, which was a big let down on the previous version of this cam.
This cam is a little smaller in diameter than the previous version, which is a good thing. I have not noticed this camera running nearly as warm as the older version does.

Yes, it still requires the plugin for viewing video, hopefully this will finally change in 2022 for all of Dahua's cams as Internet Explorer is going away soon. I have an older version of IE on a Windows 7 machine, that doesn't play nice even with the plugin. So it's getting long in the tooth.

The plugin for this camera when installed, breaks the plugin for the previous version of this cam, and some other cams plugin's as well. I understand partly the reason for this issue, is a change in chip hardware between versions/revisions. That's the story anyway. ;) I had problems with the plugin, on a couple of different systems upon first download of it. I had to uninstall all cameras plugin's on a given machine, including this one'. Dig around and find all mentions of this cam plugin in the system, delete such. Then install the plugin from the camera once again to solve all the weirdness. Andy and Dahua are aware of all of this. One of the issue's I experienced with the plugin weirdness, when SMD was enabled, the camera had a very distinct stutter, and audio drop outs even when recorded on to the camera's SD card or watched live. The un-installing of all plugins, then the fresh install of this camera's plugin, solved the issue.

Anyway, does it work? Yes, and it is an improvement over the older model. Since it uses the 1/2.7" CMOS, it does not rise to the occasion quit as well as a 5442 series cam does after dark. With a little additional light, it can hold it's own.
IVS works as it should, SMD works for the most part, it still has issue's with triggering on shadows, cats, dogs bugs etc. Like SMD does in the 5442 cams. This can be mitigated by reducing the threshold and sensitivity settings in the motion detect area of settings.

As normal for Dahua it, is a well built camera with an all metal housing, no plastic used except for the dome's, which I assume are lexan.

As you will see in the videos, the domes show their downfalls in the picture quality. I purposely mounted the cam so the domes were exposed to light from the sky, and sometimes, from direct sun. It is highly recommended to not do that, place it under an eve or such so it is shielded from exposure from the sky, and from any other sources of light's in it's field of view.

The audio is much improved in this version of the cam, it has sound quality closer to that of the 5442's. Meaning it has more bottom end, and is more natural sound. The older version is very......um tinny sounding and unnatural in comparison.

It also contains a neat feature, where as you can set the 2nd substream on channel one to show both cameras, in one single stream, albeit it is limited to 1080p, and not 4mp. That feature doesn't play nice in Blue Iris, as both cameras appear very stretched side to side in BI. Maybe I missed, it but tried everything I could in BI to solve that, but no luck. The author of Blue Iris may be able to add such a feature if asked. I assume this feature would work ok with a Dahua NVR.

At time of this writing Smart IR is NOT in the firmware, it is scheduled to be included in the next couple of weeks,

Recorded and exported from Blue Iris, let me know if I missed anything.
On with the videos'.

I had a similar issue with the plugin. It was a different plugin than the other Dahua cameras that I have (all purchased from Andy) and did seem to overwrite the old ones. Both channels were viewable once installed but it was a hassle.

Thanks for the review.
Does this camera require power since it has two or does it still run off POE?

On the old booby cam, I could only get IVS to work on one channel. Do you know if IVS works on both channels on the new model?

It works with just POE, you do not need separate power.

The claim to fame is this camera does allow IVS to work for both cameras, so I am assuming it works since the review doesn't say that it doesn't work.

Yes, as I stated in the review, almost all settings can be set independently in each camera, this includes IVS and SMD.
As stated in the OP

Intelligent monitoring: Intrusion, tripwire, fast moving (the three people gathering, and parking detection.
Face detection: Track, snapshot, snapshot optimization, optimal face snapshot upload, face enhancement, and face exposure.
People counting: Queue management, people counting in area,(day/month/year).
Dual-channel intelligence can be enabled at the same time and independent of each other.

@EMPIRETECANDY
Good day, could you please share the dimensions of the box? Trying to have someone bring it from USA and wondering if it will fit in a carry on suitcase.

thx!

I don't see this as a significant upgrade to its predecessor. In fact I still think the 2mp model has better low light capability versus this new model. Would have been awesome to see the 1/1.8" sensor in this model, but may have been a little too big, making this model have big b00bs :(
