@StevenFromTexas A roll of masking tape, a piece of 200 grit sand paper and a can of spray paint to match your trim will make them blend. I love to spend other peoples money and I like to see Andy sell cameras, but that's what I've done many times already.

Does this affect warranty? Wanted to paint mine to make them blend in better but did not want to mess up with warranty. Also what paint do you use?

I am inclined to think it will void warranty.

Camera housing is plastic, base/arm/swivel is metal

200 grit sandpaper
400 grit sandpaper
painters tape
Mineral spirits
Rustoleum painter's touch 2X

I disassembled what I could, sanded with 200
wiped it down with mineral spirits
Masked off the desired areas (and cables)
wiped it down again with mineral spirits
first coat
let dry 3-4 days
sanded with 400
wiped it down with mineral spirits
second coat
let it dry 3-4 days
re-assemble

Might be effort more than others would put in to it. I'd rather do it right and do it once.

I use denatured alcohol for wipe down, less stress on the plastic and wipes cleaner than mineral spirits which are a little oily. Good old RustOleum works well. I'd avoid Krylon because of the plastics involved, Krylon is lacquer based, IE lacquer thinner which eats plastic for lunch. Drying time, between coats can be anything from four to 24 hours with no problems. Let the second coat dry for at least 24 hours though.

Long time lurker here, first post, and purchaser of many cameras from Andy overseas and from Andy on Amazon.

Never mind Black Friday prices, Andy. Are you going to be able to obtain any IPC-HFW5241E-Z12E cameras in BLACK? I'm wanting to replace my two current white cameras with the black ones. The black color blends in so well with the dark brown wood trim on my house. The white cameras just scream "look at me".
Black ones need 300pcs Minimum QTY per month, haha and black not sell too fast. White one for the z12e also sell not too huge, so we just go on the white ones.

Is there a calculator to determine the FOV fan width at a certain distance for 2.8mm vs 3.6mm focal lengths?

I'm having analysis paralysis. Currently live in a townhouse and the width of my property is about 25 ft. and the street is basically 1.5 car lengths away. There's a brick stairwell adjacent to my driveway, so one side is somewhat blocked off. I'm planning to mount it to the ceiling of my entranceway. In the attached picture of the view from my entranceway, it's where I've marked it with an X. I think I could probably get the 3.6mm, but if anyone thinks I should get the 2.8mm based on experience, please let me know. Also I'm planning to buy the IPC-T5442TM-AS (4MP Starlight+ 10ft-50ft Smart AI, Best Fixed Turret Camera as written in Andy's document). Would be for a mix of day and night recording and nothing too intense.

In any event, I'm excited to get my first security cameras ever! If the above option is not optimal, I'm happy to take alternatives. I'm still very green to this new (to me) field of tech. Reading through the forum has, at the very least, informed me to not buy an 8K Reolink that initially piqued my interest in security cameras at all. Thanks!

USA Long Beach badly delay make our stocks delayed for 3 weeks, the Fedex has another 5days delay, crazy.
Right now some models like Color4K-X, IPC-HFW5241E-Z12E, NVR5208-8P-4KS2E all has poor stocks on amazon.com. hope they can deliver to the warehouse fast.
SD49225XA-HNR this autotracking version is end of life because of the chips, new S2 version use another hardware will not support Autotacking anymore.
So anyone want to buy a ptz, try to seize this chance.

Any way, we will try to make the BF discount a sucessfull one

I'm glad I got my order in for the HFW5241E-Z12E then. I forgot to use the link, but it's still from Andy :D

Damn, now I have to ask myself if I truly want to go ahead and buy one of these for my house? I just bought one and installed it at my brother's for his early Christmas present.

What is the next best low end auto-tracking PTZ, I think the SD5A425XA-HNR, which I think costs around $750?

I'm not sure one of these will be super beneficial for me because of a big tree that blocks the front street view from my house. Or if I mount it on the garage, the tree blocks the street running to the east of my house. If I mount it on my garage it would give me a good view of anything coming at me on the north road (road that T's into mine) and the west. Decisions, decisions...

But if your brother love that ptz, just use the SD49225XA-HN.
