PoE problem with DH-SD29204UE-GN-W

Hi. I got 2 DH-SD29204UE-GN-W that won't power up through poe inyection.
I'm using a ubiquiti Tough switch either on 24 or 48V. Also tryed a stand alone ubiquiti poe (24v and 48v)
The same switch would power up either a DH-SD22204T-GN or a DH-SD49225T-HN and the same stand alone ubiquiti poe (48v) would power up both other models but not the 29204.
Any suggestions?

As far as I know the model DH-SD29204UE-GN-W does not support POE power supply through the LAN cable, so it can not be run with POE injectors, but only and exclusively with 12V 2A Power Adapter and the provided input for that adapter.

As I own that IP camera, I know that it cannot be powered via POE.



It must support the PoE (802.3af) standard in order to be powered by a LAN cable.

I've got a 29204 powered via Poe. Did you use the same cat5 cable from injector to the cameras that work? Also does the 29204 work with an external 12v supply?

I guess that pesky W on the end does not mean white! Mine without the W does support and is running on poe.

I guess then the answer for the OP is to use one ov the poe/12v splitter.

While the SD29204UE-GN model without a Wi-Fi signal supports POE, but as far as I can see that the initiator of this topic says that it has the SD29204UE-GN-W model ...

The W means WiFi.

@zexoni70 , you are absolutely right, the -w in the model is for wifi and there is no mention of Poe in the manual. Both of mine support Poe but are not -w. All hope is not lost though! He can still purchase a splitter like

You are right!
The model does not support poe.... I was wrong! Bought the wrong camera!

You don't have to return the cameras, you can just buy as I did and bought the "UTP passive PoE adapter kit" and everything will work with a minimum of investment!
