A New Doorbell

FWIW, I have the doorbell configured in Blueiris to switch Day/Night profiles. I have it setup just like BP2008 explains it here:

Works perfect.

Still doorbell is slow to switch from substream to main, as I am sure this may be due to wireless connection. Currently I am connected to a AC 1900 router flashed to dd-wrt at 5GHz. Its running at this :

I'm hoping to hook up the DB6L to my Dahua NVR. Andy had said this is possible.
The only reason I purchased the Dahua version was because it's a brown color that matches my house and the WAF....

Have you metered the wire to see if the voltage is correct?

No, but what else could it be? Two doorbells same behavior

It's likely the transformer, but I personally would check the voltage just to be sure before going through the effort to replace it.

Just a thought, maybe remove DMSS app and reinstall, make sure you allow it access to your network, location,camera...something to try.

Did you go with a higher rated amp transformer?

Just got my DB6I / DB5X.

First impressions are very positive.

• Nice build quality!
• Easy to connect to directly via DMSS (P2P) (Android) and to the NVR (standard IP).

As it was only a first test I powered it up via the Micro-USB port.
- The settings in the DMSS app are pretty limited but setting it up via the NVR offers a lot of additional possibilities, such as modifying the IVS-rule (intrusion is the only rule available) and to adjust picture the picture, backlight etc.

When pushing the button, the notification came within 0.5s. It was as quick even if my phone was disconnected from the wifi. As I added the Doorbell both directly (P2P) and to the NVR, as 2 instances in DMSS, I could subscribe to both entities in paralell and the notifications/prompts came at the same time without noticeable delay.

Tip: Running Android you can set up different ringtones/notifications for normal NVR alerts and VTO(door bell) alerts, so you can be notified by the doorbell even if the phone is muted.

I don't have anything to say about the picture quality as this was only a bench test.

Great short review.
Overall, I'm very satisfied with the doorbell as well. The notifications are very quick. The human recognition seems to be working as advertised. My mechanical door chime seems to work even better than with the ancient doorbell I had on the door. I did install the chimekit though.

Have you been able to log into the camera and make finer adjustments? I wasn't able to do that on my iPhone or iPad.

@vidman I will test the chime myself later on as well, will probably also pick up the wireless chime too, for testing.
I'll probably install the DB on on my gate 20m from the house.

The 3 ways I've found (so far) to configure the DB are:

• DMSS, very limited options
• SmartPSS, still limited but still way more than DMSS
• Through the NVR, similar settings to any basic camera. Here you can configure the Intrusion/IVS-rule as well as image etc.

There are some settings missing in the NVR (Led control around button, white light control and the pre-defined audio files) so the best way is probably a combination of the NVR and DMSS app.

For those looking for what's available through the NVR, I just posted some pics from a Dahua AI NVR HERE. Also been doing a lot of testing in secure and locked down networks and seeing some interesting results with this doorbell and its desire for Internet access on setup Also updating with findings and tips as I go

My brother and I carried on a conversation through the DB61 just fine from Phoenix to Iowa...except I was freezing my ass off. There wasn't even a 1 second delay during our test compared to our cell phones. He was on a android device and the DMSS looked just like the IOS version. Other than stumbling through the new DMSS for him it worked great. The clips do take a little time to view as they appear to load from Micro card in phone and then to client, but doable. With the app closed on his end, I could push the doorbell button and he would answer and we could easily hear each other like we were on phone. Hopefully they will iron out a few bugson the app, but not bad for first release.

I posted this in my unboxing thread but am posting it here as I just found a workaround and as its security focused, double posting for awareness:

Heads Up On Secure / Locked Down Networks

• One thing to be careful / be aware of is that this Doorbell and specifically the setup of it does not play well with secure/locked down networks. I've tested the setup through 3 different WiFi configs with various security from VLAN tagging to associated secure firewall rules all the way through to fully locked down (no internet access) networks and any config you use that restricts internet access starts to cause problems with finalizing the setup of the doorbell. This can lead to untoward end results such as device IP in limbo where the camera can continually try to pull another DHCP assigned IP and get into a loop. It can also cause issues where the camera appears on your network BUT will not take configuration changes (even though stating successful) through an NVR. Just some things to be aware of and I'll be feeding this back to Dahua as well. When I do a full review I'll break all this out too. TIP: I revisited this and one solution I found is to setup the doorbell on an unprotected WLAN (i.e. not blocked form internet) then press the reset button once (don't hold it down) and it will go into wifi hotspot mode. From there you then join it to your secure network and all good
