Beto O'Rourke

What his campaign page state:

What he really means:

" .. hell, yes, we’re going to take your AR-15, your AK-47 .. " - Beto O'Rourke

ref:

O’Rourke made headlines with this proclamation during the third Democratic debate: “[H]ell yes, we’re going to take your AR-15, your AK-47.”
ref:

"As someone who works in Second Amendment policy, I often feel as though I have heard every bad, impractical or naïve gun-control argument that could possibly exist; in fact, it is becoming increasingly rare for me to find myself truly stunned at a statement made by a pro-gun control politician or advocacy group.

Yet even I was struck speechless when former Congressman Beto O’Rourke suggested during his presidential campaign that Americans would simply comply with his proposed laws to confiscate tens of millions of their firearms.

“If we’re able to pass mandatory buybacks and I’m able to sign that into law, then I fully expect our fellow Americans to turn in their AR-15s and AK-47s,” said O’Rourke.

This was not a misstatement or a one-off comment. As O’Rourke’s spokesman, Chris Evans, later confirmed: “When a mandatory buyback program for assault weapons is enacted, it is the law. We expect people to follow the law here in the United States, and we know that Americans are law-abiding people.”

So if they know Americans are law abiding people, then why do they have the need to take their guns away? We Texans REALLY need to make sure Beto does not become governor.

I know the day will come when they will try to “take” them away. But I don’t think that time is anywhere near.

They are going to start putting pressure on the ammo and components. Start taxing, regulating, making it harder to make and buy.

With what’s going on in Canada, if they decide to take our firearms at this point we’d have Canada multiplied 100 fold, except there would be a lot of blood shed on both sides. But by slowly making ammo harder and harder to access, in 10, 20, 30 years then their job will be easier.

I agree. They can't and they won't try to take our guns...but they will try to make them and their components so expensive, we can't afford them. THIS I believe. Well said.

It probably dawned on him "Crap, I'm now running for governor in TX, which likely has more guns owned by law-abiding citizens than any other state in the Union. I guess I better back off on my previous pledges. It's OK, these rednecks and un-sophisticated deplorables can't remember anything beyond their last bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken."

With all due respect sir, I disagree. It has been slowly going on for quite some time. A little at a time. Just like cooking a frog, slowly turn up the heat. Take a little away at a time.

Some states have enacted laws that prohibit mags that can hold more than 10 rds. And some prohibit GUNS that can take mags that hold more than 10 rds. Some states require a permit to purchase a gun and it has to be registered. Some require a license to buy ammo (I am pretty sure I heard this). Some jurisdictions will not issue permits without a 'good reason'. Some do not recognize other states permits.

Do not forget that there was an 'assault weapons' ban not too long ago. There are laws proposed and, in some jurisdictions, already on the books that allow for people to sue firearms manufacturers if a gun is used in a homicide.

All we need is for the congress and president to be one sided enough and it will happen. If they could get the filibuster repealed, it would happen already. The House already had passed legislation. It just won't make it in the Senate.

Though there are only a few countries that has total gun bans, many other countries has restrictive to strict gun laws. U.S. is the leader in the most guns per citizen in the world. Something tells me I won't see a total ban of guns for citizens in my lifetime, though I only have a few more decades of life left :) Of course anything is possible as we see in this Plandemic. Those giving in to get a Shot I think is much different than those who are willing to give up their guns. I do see more gun laws coming though unless we can get the Communist out of our Gov't.
