I've been thinking about getting a dialup modem sound sample to use as a ringtone. At the moment I'm using "Idiot Wind" for all the spam calls that I get and ignore.

I remember (ahem) heard some stories of not having enough serial ports for external devices... then it was not having enough ISA slots for internal cards
With Starlink internet available in most of North America now, and a number of decent cellular options in a lot of areas, I think those companies with ancient wired infrastructure are going to really have trouble keeping customers.
Back in the stone ages I ran a BBS using a Commodore 64 with 1200 baud, dialup, Was told 2400 would be impossible. Tech has come a long way in our lifetimes.
