Unifi G3 Instant Set Up

Hello - running into issues with Blue Iris recognizing my G3 Instant camera from Unifi.

Here's what I have:

In Unifi Protect, I enabled RTSPS for the camera in question:

*I understand Unifi uses RTSPS while Blue Iris uses RTSP. I read that the difference is the port and it's port 7447 (RTSP) vs 7441 (RTSPS).

I added camera to Blue Iris as follows:

And the net result is:

Don't mind the camera name; however, curious as to what I messed up. I don't believe the G3 Instant has a user name/password. I added a "Role" to be safe and it doesn't appear to be that. Any help is appreciated.

I don't know the setup for the Unifi but in most cases you shouldn't have the string following the IP : Port on the first line. Just use 192.168.1.1:7447. Or try just the IP and put the port to the right. Might also try with https vs rtsp there. You'll have to play around with it to find how BI wants it. Put the / and everything following it below where it says "Main" as you have it.

Search for "Unifi G3 Blue Iris." I see some things but again don't have the cam to know what actually works and how you have some of the Unifi settings configured.

For testing strings/ports, I think it's easier and faster to figure out using VLC (or similar). Once you have the string/ports working there you can move over to BI.
 
Mike A.: FWIW, with Unifi Protect, you need to have the string following the IP. It's how Protect distinguishes between multiple cameras. BI populates the main on its own.

The latest release of Unifi Protect has major changes that messed up RTSP streaming, lots of complaints in the release thread:

Someone commented that there's a fix coming, you would have expected them to incorporate the fix into the release version, but I guess RTSP is low priority for them.

Someone else mentioned disabling the audio for the camera in Blue Iris as a work around, it worked for me.

Note that you may want to disable auto updating for Unifi updates. I have mine disabled and I knew about this issue during beta testing, but I thought they had fixed it in the release version and updated to test out the new low latency feature. I should've waited...

Lessons Learned i guess.

I did have a string following the IP (i just blued it out in my screenshots).

Now that you say that, it does appear to be linked to the Audio. Without audio enabled, I have no issues. I guess I just forgot to click a button when I added the camera but turns out it fixed the problem. I will def. turn off auto-updates for Unifi Protect. It's crazy. I clearly don't use Protect how it's meant to be used so the updates are probably meaningless to me anyways if I use BI to manage. I guess I'll update it when they release the "fix" to the audio issue. Luckily, audio in the basement isn't a big deal for me.

Maybe you can help me with this, I'm having the same issue as you were having. My settings are identical to yours and audio is disabled but I get the no signal error. I'm running protect 2.0.1, any ideas?
