Hi all,

I have a Dahua NVR5208-8P-4KS2E, and a few 3549 bullet cams, and I want to complement these by replacing my "old" gate entry system that uses a 2G simcard, and is voice-only, with one of the Dahua VTOs.

I have absolutely no interest in having a screen inside, the only thing i want it to do is immediately ring (via app) both my phone and my fiancée's phone if someone presses the button, and to be able to open the gate from the app whilst on the call.

1) I see lots of people discussing SIP servers etc. I assume for this set-up I don't need this at all and I can just use the DMSS p2p functionality etc?
2) Will the camera be able to be connected to the NVR and work in the same way as my other cameras, recording on schedules/motion detection etc giving alerts even if someone doesn't press it?

Currently, there is no ethernet to the gate, but it does have a decent wifi signal and power. Because of this, I'm looking at:

VTO2311R-WP

VTO2211G-WP

These both seem to have the wiring out to be able to trigger my Nice gate motor, and just that 2311 is a bit newer/sleeker?

Are there any other products I should be considering?

Thanks,

I can't help you with the gate info as I do not have my VTO set up for the unlock, but I think a few people here do.

I just tested the VTO2202F-P within my LAN by unplugging the VTH (Screen) the DMSS app rings and has voice as well, the lock / unlock relay was available too.

You can connect it to the NVR as long as it is on the same network just as you would by adding a camera but wasn't able to get it to work with MD and alerts. I was able to set up the motion detection through the NVR / Alarm / Video Detection - but it seem to shut off and reset after a day.

EDIT - Sorry, I didn't notice the 8P, not sure if this allows you to add a cam to the internal switch or not, I try to avoid these and add my own POE switches.

I'm really struggling to find reviews/comparisons between the different dahua models.

I've seen these two now:

I know it's the "series" up, but is it practically any better than this?

They are practically identical spec wise except the 3311 has a wider FoV, otherwise same size 2mp CMOS

Why do dahua not do any 5mp doorbell cams with same sensors as their TiOC cameras, that would be ideal!

Cheers,

I do have the VTO 2211G-WP and me and my wife have the DMSS iOS app and we both can answer the ring and open the door from the app but I haven’t yet connected it to an NVR .. I will in the near future and I will reply here (if I don’t forget )
Meanwhile I can answer from the phone or indoor monitor. From the phone you can either see it through a DDNS service or a VPN (I’ve tried both and they work).

Go to Local Settings->Access Control Settings->Local
There you will see the door sensor options and also the checkbox to enable or disable it.

I see that in the VTO Local Settings->System at the bottom there is an Emergency Maintenance setting for Tuesday at 2:00 AM .. maybe turning this off will eliminate the notification.. it doesn’t bother me so I leave it on..

Hi everyone, sorry to rehash an old thread. Can anyone advise me on how to trigger the door/relay on the VTO2211 with grandstream SIP phones whilst answering a call?, eg gxv3380, gxv3370?. I can do so with the DMSS app but I do not know the SIP or phone settings for the grandstream phones, or any that is necessary on the VTO for that matter.
Any advice appreciated.

much thanks

Can your Grandstream phone be setup with http GET commands?
I'm guessing there is the API commands avaliable in the main Dahua API to activate a relay.

I use the Dahua API with Home Assistant to get the status of an alarm input.

Sorry, quite the newbie here, so I am not sure what you mean by http GET commands. But seems to be a value add service in the phone which allows their own video door unit ( GDS ) to trigger the door, with options for others as well.

on page 95-96 of this guide, it says so
Is this the right route to get this function working?

I am using a grandstream UCM6301 as the pbx if it makes any difference

much thanks for your quick reply

update - I figured it out. And indeed following the instructions on page 95-96 for configuring the GXV phones did the trick
2nd update - but the video does not come on with the value added service. back to the drawing board
