Power surge protection for NVR/IPCs

I live in an area that don't have too much power outage or surges (AFAIK).
However, today there was a power outage which seems to cause damage to my router (not 100% yet), but, the router gets disconnected (from the internet) after one hour, while before the power outage I used to a have a stable connection for months (zero disconnections).
Luckily it seems my NVR and IPCs were not affected, even though they use the same socket.
Is there a recommendation for surge protector/power outages to protect IPCs and the NVR (220V)?
I don't need a UPS because long power outage are rare (but will consider one if it's the safest solution).

So you need a 220v surge protector?

You'll need a protector that is in the range of at least 1,200+ joules. The higher the joule rating the better.

Also keep in mind surge protectors have about a 5 year life in them. They will still work, but as time goes on your protections decreases.

A UPS can still be very important because the brief power blips and brownouts cause a lot more damage than anything else to electronics.

Correct, the one thing that can protect voltage sag is a UPS. Brownout cause more damage than over voltage.

+1^^^ regarding value of a good UPS. I have 3 of them: 1 on 65" TV/satellite receiver/DVD player/sound bar, 1 on PC, 1 on Blue Iris VMS server / POE switch to surveillance cams.

Be aware that the batteries in them also have a lifespan of 3 to 5 years because they spend most of their life on a trickle charge and are only exercised when they're called to duty. Therefore I recommend to use their built-in self-test under load periodically especially near the unit's 3 year anniversary.
