I may have underestimated the LED lights I purchased....

I picked up a couple 200W LED lights to properly illuminate the streets, I'm on a corner lot, and they may be overkill. 18,500 lumens of 5000K light. We hooked one up quickly last night to see just how bright they are and it blew us away.

This is the Color4K/X. Initially, it's a bit darker than normal because the light had flickered on for a second and the camera hadn't adjusted to the loss of light. But you'll get the idea.

This is the SD1A404XB mounted to the left of the Color4K/X. I guess I'll be putting this in colour when the light is mounted! lol

I also picked up a proper mount for the SD1A404XB so it will be amount 2m lower than it is now.

Going to need someone with proper gear to mount these lights in the spot I want them. I may be able to use the same settings for day and night with the amount of light that these give off. Here's hoping!

Thanks. After watching the video a few more times, it looks like the panels will be oriented almost 90 degrees downward. If it's angled up even slightly, it would get into the windows of the neighbours across the street. Thought I would have to fabricate a shield to keep the light towards the street but it should be manageable though the angle.

The wife was holding it while I tried to keep the wires into the extension cord plug.

But, yeah, my Color4K/X will eat this up! 4ms shutter with 30 gain! lol

I order while I'm in Cuba. Amazon won't deliver to Cuba nor allow me to complete my order if I'm not using a VPN to make it appear that morning Cuba.

I have stuff delivered to a Canadian address and I'll bring it back to Cuba when I visit Canada or friends will bring stuff down to me when they visit.

Bit of a hassle but it's worth it. Everything rises in value once it's on the island.

I recently ordered 4 emergency lights for $70 USD. Only needed 3 and sold the one I didn't need for $40. Helps me recover some costs.

I have a few of the same lights but in the tri-panel (I can angle each panel separately) and 150W total only. My friends comment when driving up at night - "Entering the compound, there's the watch towers" LOL.... improving lighting was the best single upgrade I made to my cameras. Color view at night is so much better.

We probably have very similar setups. The 200W and 100W versions come with two panels but the other versions, 90W, 150W, 300W, 450W and 600W, come with three panels.

Hindsight being 20/20, I should have ordered the 150W dimmable version but I didn't see the dimmable version on Amazon Canada. Worse comes to worse and I have a real issue with the neighbours, I can disconnect 1 of the two panels quite easily and orient the remaining panel accordingly.

Yes, lighting is important. And as the pros here point out, steady light is better than motion activated lights that turn on or augment their intensity as the cameras need a second or so to adjust, possibly losing the best ID shot of the target.

Oh, there's also forwarding services in both the US and Canada which will receive a package from Amazon or another service and forward it to Cuba. But I have good friends that come down every two months usually and they're been great with me. If they have a suitcase allowance left over, I pay for their suitcase, about $30, and I can fill it with stuff I order. Since Amazon has the package size and weight listed for 90% of the products, it makes it easy to max out the luggage weight.

They're finally up! We just ran some temporary wiring until I can get enough cable to run a proper connection from the panel to the lights so they're on their own circuit. It's going to be quite a length of cable but these should do for now. The wiring really belongs on the Wall of Shame page but it will have to do. We did install drip loops, at least! lol

Now to just wait for nightfall!
