I'm confused, mini ptz

I have 2 of the 1st gen mini ptz cams.
One of them got water in the connector & corroded it.
I replaced the connector which got it working again but its having a weird issue.
I have a NVR that has a monitor connected directly to it.
I have 9 cams in total, 2 ptz's. The ptz that I replaced the connector occasionally drops signal to the monitor but I can see it through the network on my computers & remotely.
How is this possible?
Go easy on me as in a complete noob/idiot...

I had a similar dropped signal problem connecting my 1st gen mini PTZ to Milestone XProtect. The problem seems to be related to the FPS setting. Once I lowered it from 30 FPS to 15 FPS the problem went away. I'm going to try bumping it back up slowly to see where the problem comes back.

What kind of connection you made with the monitor?
 
I have never checked as this has never been an issue, I will look into that.
I just don't understand how the monitor hook directly to the NVR can lose 1 cam & all the others are fine but yet I can see it on the network/pc's.
I will probably be replacing this cam soon so it might be moot point.
I'm wondering if its the cam or the NVR?

NVR and ipcam that has problem, how they are connected?

Have you tryed to change camera's port on NVR ? If you change it the problem remains? If other camera with same port on NVR do same problem it's probably NVR problem, the port is damaged. If other camera with same port on NVR work fine it is not problem of NVR, it's probably cams's problem.

It may be that with the water has damaged the camera ? The ptz movements work fine ? You should try to use a power supply and no POE and see if it do same problem.
 
I unplugged the camera for a day while I was at work, plugged it back in & has been good ever since.
I will post if things change.

Well things have changed, the cam is dropping out on a regular basis now.
I want to try an external power source, my question is if I hook up an external power source do I need to do anything in the NVR considering it's POE?
When I originally got the cam I hooked it to my computer & external power to change the ip address but now its hooked to a POE NVR so I'm concerned about hurting the NVR.

Did you already swap NVR ports like hunte88 mentioned to make sure the issue sticks with the cam?

Well the power source is wired up & plugged into the cam just not plugged into the wall....yet.
I cant find anything in the NVR's menu's to turn off POE so I'm guessing its ok to plug the external source in but was hoping someone would confirm.
FYI: I'm just an idiot muddling my way through ;)

Anybody know how I go about doing that?

Page 40 in your manual:
"Manual: You can disable the PoE interface by selecting the manual while the current channel can beused as a normal channel and the parameters can also be edited."

IOW, go to edit camera, in the 'Adding Method' field dropdown, change from Plug and Play to Manual...disables POE.

Well now I'm even more confused as I already have the "adding method" in manual for both of my Mini PTZ's.
I don't remember why but the mini PTZ had to be setup that way.
If this is already in manual how is it working?

Oh that one is easy! If you don't have a power cable to your cam, then it's POE! ;) Is there a chance your NVR is faulty?
