Dahua NVR poe Ports 5-8 aren’t responding

Hi Guy,

I have a Dahua Nvr and I’ve trying to get rid of the old tp-link switch some of the cameras used to run on. I’ve plugged all the cameras into port 1 and the work fine. But if i add them to any of the ports 5-8 is wont work at all.

Ive had that happen once when an NVR (in an outside NEMA box) got zapped by a lightning strike nearby.

The PoE ports are grouped in 4's.

Are you sure those four ports support PoE power..?? If they don't then that explains why the cameras don't work.

Ive seen 16s, 24's, 32's that had some ports that werent PoE but not a 4 or 8 channeL? I suppose its possible if its really old..

hey thanks, Yeah 8 poe and 8 non poe for a total 16.
I think they’re broken. is there a why to test that the ports are broken, otherwise I’ll just get another nvr with 8 poe ports
