It does not have this feature.
Only the lite version (and maybe some of the OEM brands) has this feature.
Here are all parts shown.. all parts are aluminium. only the ring around the camera is plastic, but it has no features, just for optical reasons
the screw secures the mount from dismount and tighten the position you want.
much easier to mount, and smaller than the old mount

Probably the person who is reponsible for reducing expenses, who clearly doesn't understand what most costumers want.
Keep in mind we are not their intended market it is the professional installers and dealers.
Maybe it was the installers complaining that the little wrench would get dropped and lost and they wanted something simpler LOL.
But it is shown above that only the budget series suffers from this and the higher end does still have a locking screw.
It would be great if we can get @EMPIRETECANDY to verify this information: the photo on Amazon seems to show the new (cheaper looking, less secure tab based system) on the "new" 6mm lens version of the 5442 camera. All very confusing at this point...

If it's the metal version as show above, then I think I could be happy with that. I never really liked that little set screw deal they've used forever. Sometimes it goes on absolutely no problem. Other times it's like you have the wrong part, even though you just took it off the same cam, and there's no way to turn it that wants to work. Not sure why. Seems to correlate mostly to how high of a ladder you're up on at the time. Then you fumble the little wrench into the bushes never to be seen again.
It is still the 5442 for Dahua logo'd cams.
Andy was required to rename them and not be too close to original numbers.

Hey guys In order to make our client know easier for the product we sell, will use the Item name instead of Model Name on the amazon list for some cams we sell currently. Camera function/working no change. So each camera will have a product name and a model No. IPC-T5442T-ZE model Name, item...
They design this for fast installing, new desgin the ball part is very tight. The lock have a screw to lock the ball part also the plate too, you can adjust the camera easily even you hang the camera to the wall, this new design solve the cams easy off. So np worry the camera easy stolen. I just put 2 screws on it for a normal testing.
All install by myself, feel comfortable.
The base is little bigger than the old version. Housing looks not clean than the old one.

So this button will not loosen the camera if the lock screw fixed.
So the added screw locks the camera adjustment AND the mount mechanism. That's good to know.

I will say that the screw placement seems much better. I have had a couple instances with soffit mounted cams where I was not able to easily access the screw due to interference with the gutter board.
This design is okay.
Though I would wish the screw would be less visible.
A woraround is to use white glue to hide the screw.

Woah. A lot of haters here. This new design is awesome. I have installed hundreds of cameras from Andy and it always annoyed me that i can’t mount the cameras to a standard single gang opening or something else that can get installed during construction. This style camera housing solved that. They made the base of this camera or that outer ring a little bigger so that it covers the hole if you have an LV1 or single gang mud ring.
