I should've read up on cables beforehand... I recently wired ~300 feet of cable and realized that I am using lower quality cable known as CCA. I don't have any issues with it and all my Huisun cams run fine with it despite someone saying that it doesn't work with CCA, but, naturally, I no longer want to use this cable. I need maybe 200 feet more, but I want to make sure I get the correct cable. Is there a good place to buy? I don't need 1000 feet rolls though. TIA

Despite CCA being no good, I have a run of about 180+ feet to my front cam (which is now the Huisun that is working perfectly with POE out there), and a run to my trail cam that is about (don't quote me on this) 280 feet total, all in CCA. These runs have been hand buried about 2" underground for about 3 years now. All the runs in my house are also CCA. That said, if I knew then what I know now from others here, I'd have gone with a more quality cable. I didn't. It still works. What can I say?

I have always been very happy with the solid core cable from Monoprice. They also sell it in 250', 500', 1000' bulk. - just assure you're looking at/buying the "Solid" NOT "stranded" as they do offer both.

I don't think copper clad aluminum cable is as bad as people make it out to be unless its really subpar stuff.

For me I get most of my Cable from Monoprice for personal use as they seem to have the best price. Ran Cable Matters when rewiring our office space with good luck.

+1 on the monoprice cables! I was using cat5e and have recently moved up to cat6. (cat6 was +$26 per 1000' reel)

Just watch out for shipping $$ on monoprice, they can be high. You may be better off paying a few $$ more at Amazon and get free shipping. ;)

Sign up for monoprice and get their deals. They often have deals on their cable or free shipping.

No, it didn't say CCA, but I did the flame test which it failed miserably, so it's safe to assume that it's CCA

I looked there, but they don't seem to offer 250' in black or gray color. Any other options?
Don't be racist - just get blue ;)

Sorry, I always buy 1000' in some cases I've bought 500, so its never been an issue for me.

I go for yellow, orange and purple!! ;) I like multiple color runs for better ID at a distance.

Yeah, I should've bought 500 on the first place... now it will be a waste.
